Genesis Lesson 63

Joseph Who Had A Dream

(Genesis 37:1-11)

Introduction:

Unlike Esau, who moved to Mount Seir and became stronger day by day by uniting with the natives of Mount Seir, Jacob still had no chieftain, no king,

and no land to rule. Jacob is still a stranger. Jacob is clearly blessed by God, but the reality shows that Esau appears to have been blessed more.

Compared to spiritual things, secular and worldly growth grows faster and appears much more powerful, but you must have the eyes of faith to see that

there is no life in it. Only with this faith can we choose what God wants us to do. With this faith, Jacob continued to stay in the land of Canaan,

where his father lived, even when Esau went to Mount Seir to find his own way.

The covenant that Israel held on to was passed on to Joseph. As Joseph dreams and talks about the covenant, his conflict with his brothers deepens.

Joseph's brothers, who had no faith, only heard Joseph's words as boasting about himself. So his words made them hate Joseph even more.

However, Jacob, who has faith, does not listen to his son's words as immature words and takes them to heart. Those without faith do not understand

the word of life even if they hear it. However, those who have faith realize the truth contained in the Word and gain a more abundant life.

It is not the one who prays who receives the answer, but the one who holds onto the covenant who receives answers. Not everyone who makes a plan succeeds, but only those who discover God's plan become successful. Not everyone who works hard succeeds, but only those who receive God's guidance succeed.

Conclusion:

The characteristic of Joseph's life is that he held on to the covenant and changed the worst situation into the best. Everyone experiences a crisis.

A crisis is not a problem. What is important is how you turn that crisis into a blessing. Joseph did not blame people and his environment. Instead of blaming

the people who gave him a hard time, he focused his attention on how God was leading him.

I pray that you will always walk with the Lord on the journey of the covenant.
