Joseph Who Faced A Great Hardship

(Genesis 37:12-24)

 

 

 

The way God works through people who have God's dreams and vision is through trials and tribulations, breaking clay vessels and revealing the treasure

within them. Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:7, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not

from us.” The reason earthenware is recognized for its value is because of the treasure within it.

Trials, tribulations, and persecutions are perhaps rightful, because Satan is surely live and active; and God absolutely answers.

 

1. Even the righteous suffer.

2. The jealousy of Joseph’s brothers

  1) Cause (Jealousy)

  2) Motive (Gen. 37:1-11)

  3) Their state of mind (Gen. 37:18-20)

  4) Threw him into a cistern (Gen. 37:22-24)

 

3. God who was with Joseph

  1) Genesis 37:24 and they took him and threw him into the cistern. Now the cistern was empty; there was no water in it.

4. The works of wicked men fail.

Wicked men may work, but even so, that cannot change God’s plan. God’s plan is fulfilled even in the midst of their evil doing.

  1) Gen. 45:5 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me

       ahead of you.

  2) Prov. 16:4 The LORD works out everything for his own ends-- even the wicked for a day of disaster.

  3) Rm. 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

  4) Rev. 22:10-12

    v. 10. Then he told me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near.

    v. 11. Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him

           who is holy continue to be holy."

    v. 12. "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.

 

Darkness prevents the tower of light from standing, but the light of the throne has come, so I pray that you will rise and shine.
