내가 여기에 존재하고 있는 이유
전 세계 방방곡곡에 존재하고 있는 만물들은 각기 있는 그곳에서 자신의 존재 가치를 유지하고 있습니다. 새들도 각기 있는 그곳에서 노래하며, 각종 꽃들도 싹트고 사는 그곳에서 아름다이 꽃피고 열매 맺으며 꽃씨들을 퍼뜨리며 살고 있습니다. 그런데 유독 인간들만 자기 욕심 채우려고 주변을 파괴하며 각종 중독, 심지어 성전환, 자살까지 시도하며 불행에 시달리고 있습니다. 심지어 그 피해가 감기나 독감의 십 분의 일도 안 되는 코로나19에 전 세계가 호들갑을 떨며 별별 짓 다 하면서 묶여있었습니다. 나는 누구며, 왜 여기에 있는지 모르는 채 세상 풍속에 휩쓸려가고 있기 때문일 것입니다.
1. 요셉은 어릴 적부터 나는 누구며 왜 여기에 있는지 알았습니다.
어릴 적부터 하나님이 세워주신 새 언약의 방주에 승선한 요셉은 형제들에게 죽임당할 뻔하기도 하고 애굽에 노예로 팔려 가 노예 생활하면서도 슬퍼하거나 노하지 않았습니다. 그 상황을 허락하신 하나님과 함께 살았기 때문입니다. 그러나 우리의 눈과 가치관이 세상에 맞춰져 있으면 요셉 같은 상황에서는 낙심될 수밖에 없을 것입니다.
사람들은 이 세상을 살아가면서 자신이 기대했던 것과 전혀 다른 결과가 나온다거나, 생각지 못한 어려운 일을 당했을 때 낙심하기 쉽습니다. 그러나 요셉은 어떤 상황에서나 하나님과 함께 하는 축복을 누리며 만나는 모든 사람들에게 인생의 답을 주며 살았습니다. 노예로 팔려 갔으나 대제국 애굽의 총리가 되어 전 세계와 히브리 민족 살리는 축복을 누리며 살았습니다.
2. 디도는 악조건이 산적된 그레데에 파송되었습니다.
'디도'는 해적들의 근거지이기도 했던 그레데 섬에 홀로 남겨져 목회와 선교사역을 감당하게 되었습니다. 바울과 디도가 그레데 섬에 가서 복음을 전했고, 교회가 세워지자 바울은 그레데의 남은 일을 디도에게 맡겨두고, 자신은 다른 곳으로 옮겨간 상황입니다. 홀로 그레데 섬에 남아서 감당하는 목회 사역은 대단히 힘겨운 사역이었을 것입니다. 사람은 현재 상황보다 더 좋은 곳에 있기를 원하며 이곳저곳 기웃거리기 마련입니다. 그러나 방주 되신 그리스도 안에 있는 사람은 지금 자기가 서 있는 바로 그 자리에서 하나님의 뜻을 볼 수 있어야 합니다.
우선 디도가 해야 할 일은 그레데의 각 성(지역, 도시)마다 장로를 세우는 일이었습니다. 큰 그룹이든 소그룹이든 목회는 크게 두 가지입니다. 하나는 주님의 양 떼를 먹이고 돌보는 것이며 또 다른 하나는 외부의 위협으로부터 양 떼를 지키며 잃은 양들을 찾는 것입니다. 교회의 목회 사역은 사람들이 회개하고 예수 그리스도를 주인으로 모시는 믿음 속으로 들어오도록 돕는 일이 첫째 사역입니다. 둘째는 믿는 자로 하여금 모든 삶을 주님께 맡기고 인도받는 경건에 이르는 삶을 살도록 돕는 사역이며, 셋째는 주님과 동행하는 그들을 지역과 소그룹 책임을 맡을 제자로 세워 파송하는 사역일 것입니다.
3. 저는 제3국 필리핀에 파송되어 35년째 후원에 의존하고 있는 선교사입니다.
코로나19로 인하여 2020년 3월에 마지막 항공편으로 한국에 들어왔을 때는 참으로 난감했었습니다. 집없이 떠도는 삶이라서 이곳저곳 옮겨 다니며 신세를 지고 머물면서 인터넷으로 매주 세편의 메세지를 필리핀으로 보내며 주님만 바라보았습니다. 그러던중 주께서는 선교 자립을 위해 인본주의로 사업을 펼치다가 안게 되었던 모든 부채를 해결해 주셨습니다. 머물 집도 이십여 년 전 안식년 때 거주했었던 한국외대 앞으로 다시 오게 하셨습니다. 그사이 매주 3회 유튜브를 통해 메시지를 보내 왔는데, jesusfamily tv에 동영상 메시지 780편이 쌓였습니다. 작년(2024년)에 홈페이지 jesusfamily.net을 만들어 성경 66권을 오직 복음과 전도의 관점으로 강해한 영상을 올리고 있습니다. 앞으로 10년후에는 좋은 작품이 나올 것 같습니다.
바울 사도가 떠나고 부족한 듯 보였던 디도가 홀로 남았으나 그레데지역 교회들이 든든히 세워져 갔던 것은 하나님이 함께 하셨기 때문입니다. 현재 우리가 어떤 상황 속에 놓여있든 간에 우리 각 사람은 하나님께서 영원 전부터 선택하신 아주 소중한 존재라는 사실을 알아야 합니다. 우리같이 연약한 존재가 하나님께 쓰임받을 수 있다는 그 자체가 복음이요 감사입니다. 다들 세상 쳐다보고 속지 마시고, 오직 나 자신을 지으사 이 시대 이곳에 살게 하신 하나님께 관심을 고정하시고 왜 이런 상황을 맞게 하셨을까를 여쭈며 생명의 주인 되신 하나님의 인도하심을 잘 받으시기를 바랍니다.

Why Am I Here?
All things that exist all over the world maintain their own value in their respective places. Birds sing there, and various flowers sprout and live there, blooming beautifully, bearing fruit, and spreading seeds. However, only humans are suffering from misfortune by destroying their surroundings to satisfy their greed, developing various addictions, and even attempting sex changes and suicide. The whole world was caught up in a fuss and doing everything they could to deal with COVID-19, which causes less than a tenth of the damage of a cold or flu. It may be because people are being swept away by the customs of the world without knowing who they are or why they are here.
1. From an early age, Joseph knew the answer to the question: “Who am I? Why am I here?”
Joseph, who boarded the ark of the new covenant built by God from an early age, was almost killed by his brothers and was sold as a slave to Egypt, where he lived as a slave; but he did not feel sad or angry. This is because he lived with God, who allowed that situation. However, if our eyes and values are focused on the world, we will inevitably become discouraged in situations like Joseph's.
As people live in this world, it is easy to become discouraged when given results that are completely different from what they expected or when they encounter unexpected difficulties. However, Joseph enjoyed the blessing of being with God in any situation and lived by giving life's answers to everyone he met. Although he was sold as a slave, he became prime minister of the great empire of Egypt and enjoyed the blessing of saving the entire world and the Hebrews.
2. Titus was sent to Crete, which was full of adverse conditions.
Titus was left alone on the island of Crete, which was also a base for pirates, and was left to handle pastoral and missionary work. Paul and Titus went to the island of Crete and preached the gospel, and when the church was established, Paul left the remaining work in Crete to Titus and moved to another place. The pastoral work he had to do while remaining alone on the island of Crete must have been an extremely difficult task. People want to be in a better place than their current situation, so they tend to wander around here and there. However, those who are in Christ, who is the ark, must be able to see God's will right where they are.
The first thing Titus had to do was appoint an elder in each province (region, city) of Crete. There are two main types of ministry, whether it is a large group or a small group. One is to feed and care for the Lord's flock, and the other is to protect the flock from external threats and find lost sheep. The first task of the church's pastoral ministry is to help people repent and come into faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord. Second, it is a ministry that helps believers to entrust all of their lives to the Lord and live a guided life of godliness. Third, it is a ministry that appoints and sends out those who walk with the Lord as disciples who will take responsibility for regions and small groups.
3. I am a missionary sent to a third country, the Philippines, and have been dependent on support for 35 years.
Due to COVID-19, I was at a loss when I arrived in Korea on the last available flight in March 2020. Because I lived a homeless life, I moved from place to place, sent three messages every week to the Philippines via the Internet, and only looked to the Lord. In the meantime, the Lord resolved all the debts that we had incurred while carrying out humanistic work for self-reliance as a missionary. He also gave me the house I could live in, which is in front of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, where I lived during my sabbatical years more than twenty years ago. In the meantime, messages were sent through YouTube three times a week, and 780 video messages were accumulated on JesusFamily TV. Last year (2024), we created the website jesusfamily.net and are uploading videos explaining the 66 books of the Bible solely from the perspective of the gospel and evangelism. I think there will be good works coming out in the next 10 years.
Apostle Paul left and Titus, who seemed to be lacking, was left by himself, but the churches in Crete were firmly established because God was with them. No matter what situation we are currently in, we must know that each of us is a very precious being chosen by God from eternity. The very fact that weak beings like us can be used by God is gospel and gratitude. I hope that everyone will not be deceived by looking at the world, but will only focus their attention on God, who created me to live here in this era, and ask why He put me in this situation, and receive the guidance of God, the Lord of life.
