인생은 구원받을 수 있는 유일무이한 기회입니다

 

사람은 누구나 조금만 바른 양심을 가지고 자신과 주변 만물을 바라보면 이 모든 것이 우연히 진화해서 생긴 게 아니라 창조주 하나님께서 각기 그 종류대로 신묘막측(神妙莫測)하게 창조하셨다는 사실을 알 수 있습니다. 이를 하나님의 일반계시라 합니다. 더 세밀하고 확실하게 알 수 있도록 특별 계시인 신구약 성경 66권을 우리에게 주셨습니다. 구약성경 이사야 1:18절에 “여호와께서 말씀하시되 오라 우리가 서로 변론하자 너희 죄가 주홍 같을찌라도 눈과 같이 희어질 것이요 진홍같이 붉을찌라도 양털같이 되리라” 하셨습니다. 여기서 죄라 함은 원죄를 말하는데, 원죄는 아담과 함께 모든 사람이 하나님께 반역한 창세기 3장 1~6절을 말합니다. 영원한 존재인 인간이 하나님께 반역한 죄벌로 영원한 지옥 형벌(창세기 2장 17절)이 선고되었습니다. 그러나 우리를 사랑하시는 하나님께서는 그리스도를 통해 죄 사함 받고 사면복권 받을 수 있는 그리스도 언약을 세워주셨습니다. 성경 66권은 그리스도에 관한 언약입니다. 우리 각 사람을 향한 창조주 하나님의 제일 큰 관심은 죄 사함 받아 하나님과 함께 할 수 있는 의인이 되는 것입니다.

 

1. 역사는 그리스도 언약을 붙들고 계승하는 자를 중심으로 돌아갑니다.

주된 언약 계승자들을 중심으로 하나님의 역사(History)가 흐릅니다. 우리 이전의 역사의 흐름은 아담-->셋-->노아-->아브라함-->이스라엘-->예수 그리스도의 십자가, 부활, 승천-->초대교회--> 사도행전-->오늘 우리에게까지 흘러왔고, 앞으로 주님 재림, 최후의 심판, 영원한 천국 본향으로 안착될 것입니다. 그중에 언약 계승의 주역으로 택한 민족이 이스라엘이었습니다. 그런데 성경은 이스라엘의 실패와 고난에 대한 기록 내용이 많습니다. 실패와 고난의 이스라엘 역사의 중심 부분에 이사야서가 기록되어 있습니다. 여기서 이사야 선지자는 유다와 이스라엘이 하나님께 범한 죄가 뭔지 지적하고 그 때문에 받게 될 하나님의 심판을 생각하며 탄식했습니다. 그런 중에도 한 가닥 희망을 선포했는데, 이스라엘 백성 중에 남은 자들은 죄악을 버리고 주께 돌아와 구원받게 될 것이라고 예언한 것입니다.

유다 백성들은 정해진 제사를 잘 드리면 하나님과 자기들과의 관계가 잘 유지되리라고 생각했습니다. 그래서 제사 때마다 극성이었습니다. 그러나 하나님께서는 이스라엘의 제사와 제물들이 역겨워졌다고 말씀하십니다. 하나님의 언약인 그리스도와 하나 되어 그리스도로 옷 입고 그리스도의 이름으로 살지는 않으면서 그에 대한 대체물로 드리는 종교적 행위인 제사에만 열심을 낸 것을 지적하신 것입니다.

2. 이스라엘의 실패 원인은 거짓된 예배입니다.

이스라엘 백성들은 각종 제물을 들고 성전에 나가 제사를 드렸습니다. 그들은 월삭과 안식일과 정한 절기를 지키고 대회로 모여 하나님께 기도했습니다. 그런데 하나님은 이 모든 제물과 모임이 헛되이 마당만 밟을 뿐이라고 이사야를 통해 말씀하셨습니다. 

그 이유는 나 중심에서 벗어나지 못한 이스라엘의 손에 피가 가득한 죄악 때문이었습니다. 죄 중에 살면서 제사 지내며 용서를 구하는 것이 종교적 습관이 돼버린 것입니다. 이스라엘 백성들은 제사를 죄 용서의 수단으로 악용했습니다. 본질적으로 나 중심, 돈 중심의 죄 가운데 살면서 제사로 용서받으려고 하는 것에 대해 하나님은 강한 거부감을 드러내셨습니다. 그리스도와 하나 되어 하나님을 섬기는 사람은 누구에게도 해를 끼치면 안 되고 어려움에 처한 사람은 누구든 도와줘야 합니다. 그것이 하나님을 공경하는 삶입니다.

 

3. 하나님 앞에서는 예배와 삶이 구분되지 않습니다. 

반면에 우상숭배는 종교와 삶이 분리되어 있습니다. 예를 들어, 몰렉을 섬기는 자들은 자식을 불에 태워 제물로 바치는 패악을 저질렀습니다. 바알을 숭배하는 남성들은 바알 신전의 여사제들과 방탕한 짓을 하며 물질의 복을 기원했다고 합니다. 이사야는 거짓된 예배자가 되지 않도록 경계하라는 것입니다. 거짓과 탐욕과 부정한 마음으로 살면서 형식적으로 주일에 별 생각 없이 나와 예배를 구경만 하고 가는 것을 하나님은 견딜 수 없다고 하십니다. 하나님이 기뻐하시는 예배를 드리기 위해 먼저 그리스도 예수님을 구주로 영접하여 모시고 항상 함께하는 삶으로 들어가야 합니다. 주 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 우리에게 하나님께서는 고린도전서 3장 16절에 “너희가 하나님의 성전인 것과 하나님의 성령이 너희 안에 거하시는 것을 알지 못하느뇨”라고 하셨습니다. 그래서 참된 예배에 관해 로마서 12:1절은 “그러므로 형제들아 내가 하나님의 모든 자비하심으로 너희를 권하노니 너희 몸을 하나님이 기뻐하시는 거룩한 산 제사로 드리라 이는 너희의 드릴 영적 예배니라”라고 하셨습니다.

이처럼 하나님은 그리스도를 통해 우리를 천국 보좌 중심의 삶으로 부르셨습니다. 작은 나라의 대통령과 항상 함께 살아도 대단한 신분과 권세를 누리게 되는데, 만유의 주이신 하나님과 항상 함께하는 삶 속으로 초청받은 것입니다. 이 축복을 누리며 증인으로 서야 할 이스라엘이 나 중심 세상 중심에 빠져 헤매면서 당한 고난을 우리는 잘 알고 있습니다.

오늘도 누구든지 이 예수 그리스도를 구원자 메시아 주인으로 영접하여 모시면 사면 복권 받아 하나님의 자녀가 되어 천국 보좌 중심의 삶을 살 수 있습니다. 그런데 먼저 부름을 받은 교회마저 이스라엘처럼 이 사랑과 축복을 중하게 여기지 못하고 아직도 나 중심 돈 중심 성공중심에서 벗어나지 못하고 있지는 않은지 점검해 봐야겠습니다. 모든 사람이 구원받을 수 있는 유일무이한 기회로 인생을 사는데, 먼저 믿는 자들이 정신 차리지 못하고 구원의 길로 인도하지 못하면 기회를 놓치기 쉽습니다. 기회를 놓치고 돌아가시면 영원한 지옥 형벌이 집행됩니다.

Life is a Unique Opportunity to Be Saved

 

Anyone who looks at themselves and all living things around them with just a little bit of right conscience can know that all of this is not something that evolved by chance, but that the Creator God created them in a mysterious and unfathomable way, each according to its kind. This is called God's general revelation. He gave us the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, which are special revelations, so that we can know more precisely and surely. Isaiah 1:18 in the Old Testament says, "Come now, let us settle the matter," says the Lord. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Sin here refers to original sin, which refers to Genesis 3:1-6, where everyone rebelled against God along with Adam. As a penalty for the sin of humans, who are eternal beings, rebelling against God, an eternal hell penalty (Genesis 2:17) was sentenced. However, God, who loves us, established the Christ covenant through Christ so that we can be forgiven of our sins and receive amnesty and restoration of rights. The 66 books of the Bible are covenants about Christ. The Creator God's greatest concern for each of us is to become righteous people who can be with God by being forgiven of our sins.

 

1. History Revolves Around Those Who Hold On To and Inherit the Christ Covenant.

God's history flows, centered on the main covenant successors. The flow of history before us has flowed from Adam-->Seth-->Noah-->Abraham-->Israel-->Jesus Christ's crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension-->the early church-->Acts-->to us today, and in the future, it will be settled with the Lord's return, the final judgment, and the eternal heavenly home. In history, Israel was the nation chosen as the main player in the succession of the covenant. However, the Bible contains many records of Israel's failures and tribulations. The book of Isaiah is recorded in the central part of the history of Israel's failures and tribulations. Here, the prophet Isaiah pointed out what sins Judah and Israel had committed against God, and lamented thinking about God's judgment that they would receive because of it. Even in the midst of that, he proclaimed a glimmer of hope, prophesying that the remnant of the people of Israel would abandon their sins, return to the Lord, and be saved. 

The people of Judah thought that if they offered the prescribed sacrifices well, their relationship with God would be well maintained. So, they were very enthusiastic every time they offered sacrifices. However, God says that He has become disgusted with Israel's sacrifices and offerings. He pointed out that they were enthusiastic only about sacrifices, which are religious acts offered as substitutes for being one with Christ, clothing oneself with Christ, and living in Christ's name.

 

2. The Reason for Israel's Failure is False Worship.

The people of Israel brought various offerings and went to the temple to offer sacrifices. They kept the New Moon, the Sabbath, and the appointed feasts, and gathered for assemblies to pray to God. However, God said through Isaiah that all these offerings and gatherings were in vain and only trampling the courtyard. 

The reason was the sin of Israel that stained their hands with blood—the sin of not breaking free from their self-centeredness. It had become a religious habit for them to offer sacrifices and ask for forgiveness while still living in sin. The people of Israel abused sacrifices as a means of being forgiven of their sins. God expressed strong disapproval of their attempt to gain forgiveness through sacrifices while living in sin that was fundamentally self-centered and focused on money. A person who serves God in Christ must not harm anyone and must help anyone in difficulty. That is a life of revering God.

 

3. Worship and Life Are Not Separated Before God.

On the other hand, idolatry has religion and life separated. For example, those who worshiped Molech committed atrocities of burning their children as sacrifices. Men who worshiped Baal were said to have engaged in licentious acts with the female priests of the Baal temple and prayed for material blessings. Isaiah is warning against becoming a false worshiper. God cannot tolerate His people living daily with lies, greed, and impure hearts, and formally coming out to worship on Sundays without much thought and just observing the worship service. In order to offer worship that God is pleased with, we must first receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and enter into a life of always being with him. To us who are in the Lord Jesus Christ, God said in 1 Corinthians 3:16, "Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?" So, regarding true worship, Romans 12:1 says, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship." 

In this way, God has called us through Christ to a life centered on the throne of heaven. Even living with the president of a small country brings great status and power, but we have been invited into a life of always being with God, who is the Lord of all things. We know well the tribulations that Israel suffered as they wandered, falling into self-centeredness and world-centeredness, when they should have enjoyed this blessing and stand as witnesses. Even today, anyone who receives Jesus Christ as their Savior, Messiah, and Lord will be pardoned and restored, become a child of God, and live a life centered on the throne of heaven. However, we must first check whether even the church, which was called first, does not value this love and blessing just as Israel failed to do, and is still unable to escape from self-centeredness, money-centeredness, and success-centeredness. Everyone lives life as a unique opportunity to be saved, but if those who believed first do not come to their senses and lead the way to salvation, it is easy to miss the opportunity. If you miss the opportunity and meet your end, eternal hell penalty will be executed.
