요일 4:8 하나님은 사랑이십니다 어린 손녀를 돌봐주며 귀엽고 사랑스러운 마음에 무엇이든
아이에게 좋은 것들은 다 해주고 싶은 생각을 하며 작은 행복을 느끼고 있습니다. 이를 통해 우리를 향한
하나님 아버지의 사랑을 만분의 일이라도 느끼며 감사함이 많습니다. 우리 각 사람을 하나님의 형상대로, 최고 사랑의 자녀로 지으신 하나님은 당신을 우리에게 사랑이시라고 하셨습니다.
하나님께서는 사랑의 대상으로 우리 각 사람을 창세 전에 예정하셨습니다. 사람을 위해 온
우주 만물을 창조하시고, 하나님의 형상으로 각 사람을 지으셨고, 각
사람에게 아담처럼 에덴동산과 같은 낙원을 맡길 계획이셨습니다. 그런데 첫 사람 아담과 함께 그 안에
있던 모든 사람이 하나님께 반역한 원죄 사건이 터졌습니다. 사람을 위해 수립된 복된 창조 질서가 깨져버린
것이지요. 그런데도 하나님께서는 우리 모두를 사랑하사 독생자 그리스도를 통해 구원하시겠다는 그리스도
언약을 세워주셨습니다. 1. 하나님과 우리의 근본적인 관계 우리를 당신의 자녀로 창조하신 하나님은 우리를 위해 모든
우주 만물과 천사들을 지으셨습니다. 에덴에서 아담과 함께 우리 모두를 지으신 후 온 땅과 모든 살아있는
동식물들을 다스리는 일에 동역하게 하셨습니다. 하나님은 우리를 지으실 때 하나님의 형상과 모양대로 즉
자녀로 지으셨습니다. 하나님께서 최고로 아끼고 사랑하시는 자녀로 지으신 것이지요. 아담과 함께 모든 사람이 하나님께 반역하여 원죄 아래 빠졌음에도 불구하고 하나님은 우리를 그리스도를 통해 구원하시고, 하나님의 귀한 자녀로 키워가시며 동역하시고자 하시는 것입니다. 성경
이사야 43:7절에 보면 ‘내 이름으로 불려지는 모든 자 곧 내가 내 영광을 위하여 창조한 자를 오게
하라 그를 내가 지었고 그를 내가 만들었느니라’라고 하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 우리를 특별히 하나님의
사람, 그리스도의 사람, 성령의 사람으로 만들어 가시며 구원
사역인 재창조 사역에 동역케하시는 것입니다. 재창조 사역 여정을 성경 에베소서 2:10 절에서 보면 “우리는 그가 만드신 바라 그리스도 예수 안에서 선한 일을 위하여 지으심을 받은 자니 이
일은 하나님이 전에 예비하사 우리로 그 가운데서 행하게 하려 하심이니라”라고 말씀하셨습니다. 각 사람의
일생을 통해 이를 이뤄가시고 재창조의 완성은 각 사람의 인생 종말과 주님 재림하실 때가 될 것입니다. 2. 우리에게 임한 하나님의 특별한 사랑 본래 모든 사람은 하나님의 최고 사랑의 대상으로 지음
받은 존재였습니다. 하나님의 더더욱 특별한 사랑인 그리스도 언약의 핵심은 하나님께서 직접 성육신하시어
그리스도로 오셔서 구원 사역을 이루시는 것이었습니다. 우리의 모든 죄를 대신 지시고 십자가에 못 박혀
죽으심으로 모든 문제 끝내셨습니다. 사흘 만에 부활하사 마귀의 일을 멸하실 왕 중의 왕이 되사 믿는
각 사람의 구주로 임하시는 것입니다. 이 크신 사랑은 하나님과 우리 믿는 각 사람을 참된 부모와 자식의
관계로 회복시키며 영원토록 사랑의 관계를 지속하는 최고의 사랑입니다. 이 사랑을 받은 우리 각 사람은
하나님의 사랑받는 자녀가 되어 선한 청지기로 주님의 일에 동역하는 축복 속에 거하는 것입니다. 아담을
비롯한 모든 각 사람은 누구나 한번씩 육신의 삶을 살다 가는데 이 기간이 바로 구원받아 하나님의 사랑안에 들어갈 수 있는 유일무이한 기회가 되는
것입니다. 이처럼 크신 하나님의 사랑 안에 들어온 자는 당연히 마음과
뜻을 다해 하나님을 사랑하며, 형제자매와 이웃을 내 몸과 같이 사랑할 수 있게 되었습니다. 사람들에게 복음을 알게 하고 믿고 누리도록 돕는 것이 가장 귀한 청지기의 사역이며 최고의 이웃 사랑입니다. 3. 주님의 사랑 안에 들어온 자는 서로 사랑합니다. 그리스도를 믿는 자들은 곧 예수님을 아는(기노스코) 자, 즉 한
몸 된 자인 그리스도의 사람을 말합니다. 나 자신을 지으신 분이요, 구원하신
분이시오, 항상 함께하시는 분께서 나를 얼마나 사랑하시는지 알고 누리면 항상 기뻐하며 감사하며 따르게
되어 있습니다. 가장 오래 쓰임 받았던 사도 요한은 성령의 감동하심으로 이런 우리를 ‘사랑하는 자들아’라고
부르시며 ‘우리가 서로 사랑하자’라고 말씀하십니다. 그 이유는 ‘사랑은 하나님께 속한 것이니 사랑하는
자마다 하나님으로부터 나서 하나님을 알고’ 라 하셨습니다. 반대로 요한일서 4:8절에
“사랑하지 아니하는 자는 하나님을 알지 못하나니 이는 하나님은 사랑이심이라”라고 하셨습니다. 하나님의
우리를 위한 사랑은 우주 만물의 창조와 운행을 통한 일반 은총도 있지만, 그리스도를 통한 특별은총으로
확실히 보이셨습니다. 이를 믿고 그리스도를 구주로 영접하여 모시고 사는 우리가 서로 사랑하는 것은 우리가
주의 사랑 안에 거하는 증거입니다. “어느 때나 하나님을 본 사람이 없으되 만일 우리가 서로 사랑하면
하나님이 우리 안에 거하시고 그의 사랑이 우리 안에 온전히 이루어지느니라” 하나님 사랑과 이웃 사랑은 같이 이뤄집니다. “하나님이 우리를 사랑하시는 사랑을 우리가 알고 믿었노니 하나님은 사랑이시라 사랑 안에 거하는 자는 하나님
안에 거하고 하나님도 그의 안에 거하시느니라” 하셨습니다. 믿는 우리는 하나님과 사랑 안에서 한 몸
되어졌습니다. 그런데 명심할 것은 “누구든지 하나님을 사랑하노라 하고 그 형제를 미워하면 이는 거짓말하는
자니 보는바 그 형제를 사랑하지 아니하는 자는 보지 못하는바 하나님을 사랑할 수 없느니라” 하셨습니다. 우리는
형제를 사랑함으로 그리스도의 사랑을 확증하며 그리스도와 한 몸 된 증인으로 삽니다. 항상 주님의 사랑을

1 John 4:8 God Is Love As I take care of my young granddaughter, my heart filled with
affection and love makes me want to do everything good for her, and I feel a
sense of small happiness. Through this, I feel a mere ten-thousandth fraction
of God the Father's love for us and am filled with gratitude. God, who created
each of us in His image, as children of His highest love, declared Himself to
us as love. God predestined each of us as objects of His love before the
foundation of the world. He created the entire universe for humanity, created
each person in His image, and planned to entrust each person with a paradise
like the Garden of Eden, just as He did with Adam. However, the event of the
Original Sin occurred when the first man, Adam, and everyone in him rebelled
against God. The blessed order of creation established for humanity was broken.
Yet, God, in His love for all of us, established the Covenant of Christ to save
us through His only begotten Son, Christ. 1. The
Fundamental Relationship Between God and Us God, who created us as His children, created the entire universe
and the angels for us. After creating all of us with Adam in Eden, He made us
co-workers in the task of ruling over all the earth and all living plants and
animals. When God created us, He created us in His image and likeness, that is,
as His children. He created us as the children He most cherishes and loves.
Despite the fact that everyone, along with Adam, rebelled against God and fell
under the Original Sin, God still desires to save us through Christ, raise us
as His precious children, and partner with us. In the Bible, Isaiah 43:7 says: “everyone
who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”
(NIV) God is specially making us into people of God, people of Christ, and
people of the Spirit, partnering with us in the work of Re-creation, which is
the work of salvation. Regarding the journey of the work of Re-creation,
Ephesians 2:10 of the Bible says: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in
Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
(NIV) God is accomplishing this through each person's life, and the completion
of Re-creation will be at the end of each person's life and at the Lord's
return. 2. God's
Special Love Given to Us Originally, all people were created as objects of God's highest
love. The core of God's even more special love, the Covenant of Christ, was
that God Himself would become incarnate, come as the Christ, and accomplish the
work of salvation. By bearing all our sins and being crucified to death, He put
an end to all problems. He resurrected on the third day, becoming the King of
kings who destroys the work of the devil, and comes to each believer as their
Lord and Savior. This great love is the greatest love that restores the
relationship between God and each of us believers into a true parent-child
relationship and sustains that relationship of love forever. Each of us who
receives this love lives in the blessing of becoming a beloved child of God and
partnering in the Lord's work as a good steward. Everyone, including Adam,
lives a physical life just once, and this period is the one and only
opportunity to be saved and enter into God's love. One who has entered into this great love of God is naturally able
to love God with all their heart and soul, and to love their brothers, sisters,
and neighbors as themselves. Helping people to know, believe, and enjoy the
Gospel is the most precious work of a steward and the highest form of
neighborly love. 3. Those
Who Enter the Lord's Love Love One Another Those who believe in Christ are those who know (Ginosko) Jesus,
that is, people of Christ who have become one body with Him. When we know and
enjoy how much the One who created me, saved me, and is always with me loves
me, we are bound to always rejoice, give thanks, and follow. The Apostle John,
who was used the longest, calls us 'Dear friends' through the inspiration of
the Holy Spirit and tells us, 'let us love one another.' The reason is that
'love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.'
(NIV 1 John 4:7, simplified). Conversely, 1 John 4:8 says: “Whoever does not love does not know
God, because God is love.” (NIV) God's love for us is shown certainly not only
through general grace—the creation and operation of the universe—but also
through the special grace found in Christ. Our loving one another, as those who
believe this and live having received Christ as our Lord and Savior, is proof
that we abide in the Lord's love. The passage continues: “No one has ever seen
God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete
in us.” (NIV) The love of God and the love of neighbor are accomplished
together. 1 John 4:16 says: “And so we know and rely on the love God has for
us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” (NIV) We
believers have become one body with God in love. However, we must bear in mind
what 1 John 4:20 says: “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or
sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they
have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.” (NIV) We confirm the love
of Christ by loving our brothers and sisters, and we live as witnesses who are
