Leviticus 14
The Life of a Person Cleansed from Leprosy (Leviticus 14:1-20 )
Verse 17: "The rest of the oil in his palm the priest shall put on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt offering."
In the Old Testament, there are two people recorded as having contracted leprosy and then been healed.
One person is Miriam, Moses' sister. As you can see in Numbers chapter 12, when Miriam criticized Moses for marrying
a foreign woman, God caused Miriam to contract leprosy. At that time, at Aaron's earnest request, when Moses prayed to God,
God healed Miriam's leprosy. We can see that this leprosy is a disease symbolizing pride and sin, and it is a disease
that can only be cleansed by God.
Another is the case of Naaman, a general from the Aramean nation, in 2 Kings chapter 5.
Today’s passage testifies to the regulations for the day a leper is cleansed.
1. Take the person to the priest (verses 1-2)
1) If the person is cured of leprosy, take the person to the priest.
2) The core of the covenant community is to worship God in the sanctuary.
3) The most important thing in the Bible is to restore a right relationship with God.
4) The order of the ceremony is a procedure that leads from self-centeredness to Christ-centeredness and church-centeredness.
2. The meticulous care and procedures involved in integrating someone into the church. (verses 3-9)
1) First, you must ask the priest to examine him outside the camp.
2) The two-bird ritual
3) A ritual for entering the camp from outside the camp.
4) He entered the camp, but he had to stay outside the tent for 7 days.
3. The process and procedure for establishing as a church member (verses 10-32)
1) On the eighth day, the procedure for the purification ceremony is finally completed (verses 10-13).
2) The entire process from the ceremony outside the camp to offering a sacrifice before the LORD.
3) It is not something that you can easily attend once in a while.
4) We must keep in mind that our salvation was by no means an easy process.
Conclusion: The life of a believer who has received new life and entered the path of salvation
1) Eph 2:12.
2) A ceremony to decide to live as one who has been purified.
3) The meaning of the blood and oil applied to the right earlobe and the thumb of the right hand
4) The meaning of the blood and oil applied to the big toe of the right foot.
Many church members have a holy appearance and live a religious life only in church, but when they go home and to work,
they live completely worldly lives. Such a life is ultimately like trapping the God they serve in the church.
God is by no means confined to the church. God has made it so that His people live with God and live as God's holy people
not only in the church but also anywhere in this world. Also, living in a dark and moldy home or workplace also has a negative
impact on the human body. People get sick and can cause serious respiratory illnesses.
That's why it says, "Arise, shine!"
I bless you to hold on to the 3 Todays, live according to the Word of God, enjoy health in body and soul,
and reap the blessed fruits of evangelism.
