Leviticus 15

Purity Rules Related to Sex (Leviticus 15:1-18)

Verse 31: “‘You must keep the Israelites separate from things that make them unclean,

so they will not die in their uncleanness for defiling my dwelling place, which is among them.’”

The purification ceremony that began with the dining table in Leviticus 11 mentions the bed a lot in chapter 15.

Since the dining table and bedroom are the most important places in the home and life, the structure shows that

the community can be pure only if those two places are pure. Therefore, today we must also examine our own purity

and look back at every aspect of our lives, from eating habits to sexual life. Although we say we are Christians,

if we are immersed in eating, drinking, dressing, building houses, and pursuing sexual pleasure for the flesh in the same way

as the world, we belong to unbelievers bound by self-centeredness.

In particular, Leviticus 15 discusses in detail the issue of impurity caused by sexual problems between men and women.

1. Sexual depravity called the discharge was rampant (1-15)

1) Sexual intercourse was an important means of uniting with gods in the pagan temples.

2) As a result, the pagans living in Canaan became sexually depraved.

3) The pollution of the world is spreading widely even in the church today.

4) The garment we must wear is the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. If you deviate from the holy, you are easily infected and bound (8-12).

1) If you are near someone who has a disease involving bodily discharge, you will be infected.

2) A person who with a bodily discharge is a strong cause of impurity.

3) In particular, the disease of the effusion is a sin that an individual privately diagnoses.

4) The running water needed for washing refers to the Word.

3. Reasons for giving the rules of purity for sexual matters

1) God created man in His image and as the lord of all things.

2) The result of original sin is that man has become a sinful being centered on himself.

3) That is why God established the covenant of Christ.

4) Please keep in mind that one’s sex life is also a blessing to be enjoyed in Christ.

Conclusion: Believers must turn away from all forms of impurity

1) In verse 31, it says, “Let them not die by defiling my tabernacle.”

2) Apostle Paul said, “Abstain from every form of evil.”

3) Also, we must not go to impure places except for the purpose of evangelism.

4) The number “8” in verses 13-15 symbolizes a new beginning and is the number of resurrection.

Sex was never given as a tool for pleasure. Destroying another person's happiness and destroying oneself and one's family

for one's own temporary pleasure is an unacceptable sin. You can only receive God's blessing when you are spiritually pure.

God always wants to pour out blessings on us from above. It is unfortunate if He wants to pour out blessings

but we cannot receive them because we are blocked by impurity. So, those who are spiritually dirty must become clean.

If you are spiritually dirty, you will become dirty yourself and infect others, harming both yourself and others.

And decisively, you will be distanced from God's blessings. I hope that your soul will be cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ

and that you will become a person who enjoys 3 Todays. Even if you were mired in filth until yesterday,

I believe that if you are cleansed today and make a new start, your life will be filled with God's blessings.

I earnestly bless you in the name of the Lord that such grace will always be with you.
