Numbers 2
The Basics of Those Who Are Soldiers of the Lord (Numbers 2:1-9, 32-34)
Verse 34: “So the Israelites did everything the LORD commanded Moses; each man camped under his standard
and set out under his banner, according to their clans and families.”
Revelation 12 shows the war in heaven between the heavenly host and Satan and his evil spirits. As a result of this battle,
Satan and his soldiers lost their place in heaven and were cast down to the earth, and from this time on, spiritual warfare
began on earth. After the Tower of Babel incident, God chose Abraham and created the Israelite army.
Exodus 12:41 says, "At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the LORD’s divisions left Egypt."
He called Israel, liberated from Egyptian slavery, the army of the LORD. The army is the basic organization of God's kingdom.
2 Timothy 2:3 says, "Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus." We must know that we are soldiers of Christ.
Therefore, we need to know the basics of those who are soldiers.
1. The Lord's Army Lived a Tabernacle-Centered Life
1) The most important message of Numbers chapter 2 is 'centered on the tabernacle'.
2) The top priority of our lives as soldiers of God is the kingdom of God.
3) Our lives are no different from the Israelites walking the wilderness path.
4) The foundation of those who are soldiers of the Lord is to serve and be guided by centering on the Lord.
2. The Basics of an Army are Command and Obedience in Order and Harmony
1) God determined the position, role, and marching order of each tribe of Israel.
2) Today's passage, chapter 2, is about the organization of the Israelite army.
3) Disorder brings division and confusion, but order brings unity and strength.
4) What God values most for us is order and unity.
3. God's Army Opposes the Ruler of the World, the Devil
1) The formation of the Israelite camp was an organization for the conquest of Canaan.
2) They made and used military flags for each of the four camps and each tribe, and they were equipped with the basics.
3) The Lord's army can be victorious when they cooperate with each other within the community.
4) Israel moved in an orderly and unified manner, centered on God.
Conclusion: Our Affiliation as Soldiers of the Lord is the Kingdom of God
1) We must all keep in mind the essential identity that we are God's army.
2) God is a God of order.
3) A saint who is a soldier of the Lord is a person who seeks the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
4) We who are soldiers of the Lord also need order centered on Christ and centered on the church.
Today, the fundamental problem of Christianity is that it is trapped in religious life for myself without escaping
from self-centeredness. We, who have become people of Christ, must keep in mind the fact that we are God's army
that must move toward heaven and continue the spiritual battle. 2 Timothy 2:4 says, "No one serving as a soldier gets
entangled in civilian affairs." God is responsible for all our needs. The most important thing for us is that the Lord is in our
midst (Revelation 3:20). Therefore, we just need to obey and follow the Lord's Word. It is truly unfortunate if a Christian called
as a soldier of Christ lives as a deserter. There can be no soldier living without a church, the unit to which he belongs.
Like the conclusion of Leviticus, I hope that as soldiers of God, we will dedicate ourselves to the church to which we belong,
establish the channel of tithes, which is the supply route, and walk the path of loyalty. That is the path to true victory given
to individuals, families, and churches. I hope that you, who have been saved, will live a life completely dedicated to the unit
to which you have been called and living with the Lord holding onto the 3 todays.
I always bless you in the name of the Lord to be victorious.
