Numbers 6.
God Who Gladly Receives the Life of a Nazirite (Numbers 6:22-27)
Verse 27: “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.” (NIV)
Numbers chapter 6 contains the content about the Nazirites. 'Nazirite' means 'one set apart for God.'
As we all know, when a person gets drunk on wine, their reason is paralyzed. They do not know what they are saying,
nor can they know what they are doing. A person who is drunk cannot live according to the Spirit of God.
God gladly receives the vow of a Nazirite who only desires to be governed by God. If we want to dedicate our lives
more to God and be more set apart, we must remove wine from our lives. Only by holding onto three things of today
and becoming soldiers of Christ and following the Lord is the most blessed life.
1. The Vow and Regulations of the Nazirite
1) A Nazirite is a person who voluntarily makes a vow to dedicate himself to God.
2) For these people, everything related to grapes was prohibited.
3) Secondly, the Nazirites were distinguished by not cutting their hair.
4) Thirdly, Nazirites must not attend funerals or get near a dead body.
2. Fruit Through Nazirites Who Volunteered to Serve
1) All Israelites are a holy people, set apart from all the world.
2) In the Old Testament, rabbis and synagogue leaders can also be seen as Nazirites.
3) Nazirites were set apart people who had to look only to God during the period of their vow.
4) The LORD will want the soldiers of Christ to be set apart as Nazirites.
3. God Blesses Through the Priests (22-27).
1) This blessing prayer is not just for Nazirites.
2) What was the blessing that the priests had to give?
3) This blessing prayer is the blessing of the Triune God in the form of a three-line poem.
4) The blessing poured out on us, who are soldiers of Christ, is this very blessing.
Conclusion: God Blesses the Soldiers of the LORD
1) God showed the blessed standard for the soldiers of the LORD.
2) The LORD does not rejoice in soldiers who are forcibly dragged along against their will.
3) If we entrust everything to the Lord, we will receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit and be able to stand as witnesses.
4) Today's passage reveals that the source of all blessings is God.
Clothed in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the great love of God the Father, we have become the temple of God
and soldiers of Christ. The most blessed ministry in the work of human salvation, which is God's purpose in operating the earth,
is to be used as a soldier of Christ. I hope you will be grateful for receiving the blessing of the Nazirite who volunteers
to serve in this work. The image of God that Adam received was just given without asking, but our being the temple of God
and the soldiers of Christ is voluntary within the grace and love of the Lord. I pray that you will always rejoice, give thanks
in everything, and be used preciously as a strong soldier of Christ in the midst of unceasing prayer, whenever, wherever,
and in any situation.
