Numbers 15

I am the LORD your God (Numbers 15:32-41)

Verse 41 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD your God.”

The Israelite army's joining with the 10 unbelieving scout reports at Kadesh Barnea and rebelling against God was an act of treason against God.

Because of Moses' earnest intercession, God changed His intention to immediately destroy them. However, as a result, all of the first generation of

the Exodus, those aged 20 and above who had rebelled against God, were unable to enter the promised land, with the exception of Caleb and

Joshua. They received the sentence that they would live for 40 years in the wilderness, raising the next generation, and then be buried

in the desert sand. The forgiveness of sins granted to those who rebelled was a result of God's mercy and compassion.

1. God Who Promised Entry into Canaan After 40 Years in the Wilderness

1) The promise given to Israel, who had re-entered the wilderness and were in despair (verse 2).

2) It is the Word of God concerning the regulations for sacrifices to be offered approximately 40 years later.

3) This Word applies to teenagers and children under 20 years old at the time.

4) The promise includes not only Israel but also foreigners (verse 14).

2. Anyone Who Holds to the Covenant Can Enter the Promised Land

1) The promised land is given to all who believe and follow God’s covenant.

2) In verses 15-16 and Genesis 12:3, it speaks of all peoples on earth.

3) Israel could not enjoy this blessing and fell into destruction.

4) The offerings made upon entering the land of Canaan are the main produce of the land of Canaan.

3. The Difference Between Those Who Sin Unintentionally and Those Who Sin Willfully

1) When one sins unintentionally, an atonement offering can be made to receive forgiveness.

2) Like Matthew 12:31-32, those who blaspheme the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

3) The person who went out to gather wood on the Sabbath was not one who sinned unintentionally.

4) The promise concerning the land of Canaan was given from the time of Abraham.

Conclusion: Live Holding onto the Word Given, Like Attaching Tassels to the Corners of Garments

1) From verse 38, God reveals the purpose of attaching tassels to the corners of garments (verse 39).

2) Fleshly believers live regardless of God’s Word.

3) today's passage, verse 39, tells us to strive to break free from self-centered greed.

4) Pious Israelites should well understand the purpose for which they were made to attach tassels to their garments.

If we read verse 41 as the Word given to us, it says, “I am the LORD your God; I brought you out of a sinful world to be your God.

I am the LORD your God.” A person who lives holding onto the Word given to them by God through the pulpit message each week can walk

with the Lord. Otherwise, if one lives self-centeredly according to their own opinions, they will live according to the ways of this world

and their own desires. today's passage defines such a life as intentionally sinning. I hope that all of us can make a decision,

holding onto the given Word. Will we live as people of Christ who loved us, solved all our problems, and became our Lord and Savior

to take responsibility for us, or will we choose to be our own masters and live according to our own opinions?

This is, in fact, a decision of whether to live as holy children of God or to be dragged around as slaves of the world.

I bless all of you to now hold onto 3 todays and live a victorious life as soldiers of Christ in the name of the Lord.
