참된 평강을 얻을수 있는 길 (살후3:16-18)
어느 시대든 세상은 항상 다사다난했었고 우리 인간은 매일의 현장에서 문제들을 만납니다. 대부분 그런 문제들에 염려와 인본주의로 반응하여 마음의 평안을 잃어버리고 더더욱 묶여가게 됩니다. 세계적인 인재들이 머리를 맞대도 분쟁과 전쟁에 휩싸이는 경우가 비일비재했습니다. 현재 전 세계는 러우전쟁, 중동전쟁으로 인하여 재앙이 임하고, 공산진영의 몸부림으로 인하여 동북아정세는 초긴장 국면으로 치닫고 있습니다. 언제든 문제가 뭔지 알아야 하고 참된 해답을 붙들어야 평강의 깃발을 올릴 수 있습니다.
1. 세상은 평강을 잃어버렸고, 세월이 흐를수록 암울해지고 있습니다.
사람들은 모두 평화를 원하지만, 그러나 이 땅에는 참된 평화가 없습니다. 사람들은 모두 평안하게 살기를 바라고, 전쟁이 없이 군사적, 정치적, 경제적으로 평화가 유지되기를 바라며, 가정도 평안하기를 바라며, 마음도 평안하기를 원합니다.
나라마다 평화를 지키기 위해서 최선을 다합니다. 하지만 이 세상에는 하루도 전쟁이 그칠 날이 없었습니다. 가정에서의 평화도 잘 유지되지 못합니다. 이웃들과의 평화도 늘 깨어지기 일쑤이고 마음의 평화도 잘 지켜지지 못합니다.
행복을 추구하기 위해 물질을 추구하지만, 많은 돈이 흐르는 곳곳에는 일만 악이 범람합니다. 근심, 걱정, 노심초사, 의심, 미움과 같은 것들이 연기처럼 피어오르며 마음의 평화를 얼마나 자주 깨뜨리는지 모릅니다. 세상의 모든 평화는 모두 불완전하고 일시적입니다. 갈수록 이 세상에는 참된 평안을 찾기가 어려워졌습니
다.
2. 인류가 평안을 잃어버린 이유와 되찾을 수 있는 유일한 길
하나님의 형상으로 피조된 인간이 하나님께 반역하고 죄에 빠져 흑암에 잡혀버린 이후, 인간은 근본적으로 평강을 놓쳐버렸습니다. 하나님의 형상인 사람에게는 하나님이 주시는 평안 외에 참된 평강은 있을수 없습니다. 하나님이 주시는 이 평강은 하나님과의 화목, 하나님과의 평화가 이루어졌을 때 누릴 수 있게 됩니다. 하나님과의 평화, 하나님과의 화목을 누리지 못하는 사람들은 이 평강을 알지도 못합니다.
우리를 다시 이 평강으로 부르시기 위해서 하나님은 새 언약을 세워주셨습니다. 누구든 자신의 원죄와 자범죄를 회개하고, 오직 “주 예수그리스도”를 구주로 모시고 따르면 이 평강속에 들어갈 수 있습니다.
3. 이 평강을 주시기 위해 예수그리스도는 각 사람을 부르고 계십니다.
예수님은 사람(아담)의 원죄로 깨어진 평화를 회복시켜주시려고 오신 평강의 왕 그리스도이십니다. “아무것도 염려하지 말고 다만 모든 일에 기도와 간구로, 너희 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰라 그리하면 모든 지각에 뛰어난 하나님의 평강이 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희 마음과 생각을 지키시리라”(빌 4:6-7).
전도자를 통해 각 사람의 마음의 문을 두드리시는 예수그리스도를(계3:20) 구주로 영접하면(요1:12) 죄 사함을 받아 하나님의 자녀가 되어 평강속으로 들어갈 수 있습니다. 그러나 우리의 관심이 구주로 영접하여 모신 주님에게서 멀어지면 우리는 다시 불안과 초조 염려의 늪으로 빠져들어 갈 수밖에 없습니다. 그래서 주께서는 “너는 내게 부르짖으라(내게 가까이 오라)” 하신 것입니다.
주 예수님이 주시는 평강은 환경을 뛰어넘는 것입니다. 바울 사도는 우리가 “때마다 일마다” 즉 모든 환경 속에서 평강을 누리기를 기도했습니다. 이 평강은 세상에서 일어나는 어떤 일에도 영향을 받지 않습니다. 그것은 어떤 인간관계도 뛰어넘습니다.
결론: 믿는 자들에게는 장차 입성할 영원한 평강의 본향이 있습니다.
주 예수님 안에서 지금 이 평화를 누리고 사는 성도들은 장차 영광스럽고도 영원한 평화의 나라에 입성하게 된다는 사실을 명심해야 합니다. 거기에서 우리는 완전한 평화를 영원토록 누리게 될 것입니다(사 11:6-9, 사 65:25). 모든 눈물, 모든 사망, 모든 아픈 것이 다 그치게 될 것입니다(계 21:3-4). 완전한 평화가 거기에 있습니다. 하나님과의 완전한 화목과 평화가 거기에 있으며, 거기에는 아무런 부족함이 없을 것이며, 모든 사람들과의 완전한 화목과 평화가 임하게 될 것입니다. 모든 전쟁이 그칠 것입니다.
우리 삶의 중심이 어디 있는지를 한번 잘 살펴보시기 바랍니다. 주 예수님을 구주로 모시고 사는 우리는 더 이상 ‘나 중심’이 아니라 ‘주님 중심’이고 ‘이웃 중심’의 삶을 살게 되었습니다. 나 중심의 눈으로 세상을 보면, 평강을 누리는 것이 아니라 염려를 누리게 됩니다. 불안과 초조에서 벗어나지 못하는 삶을 살게 됩니다. 하지만 모든 관심의 초점을 주 예수님께 고정하고 주님과 하나되는 삶을 살며 이웃을 섬길 때, 진정한 평강을 누립니다. 그러면 예수 믿는다는 것이 이렇게 기쁘고 좋은 것인가를 깊이 체험하게 됩니다.
진정한 평강은 주의 말씀 붙들고 순종하는 삶을 통해 회복됩니다. 그 첫걸음은 나중심의 길, 죄의 길에서 돌아서는 것입니다. 자기만 아는 자기중심적인 삶에서 돌아서는 것입니다. 그래야 평강을 누립니다. 자기만 알고 자기만 위하는 삶은 반드시 두려움과 염려와 불안으로 연결됩니다. 단 한 번 살다 가는 인생은 그리스도인으로 신분을 바꿀 수 있는 유일한 기회입니다. 그리스도 안에만 참된 평강과 행복이 있습니다. 여러분 모두가 주 예수그리스도 안으로 들어오셔서 이 평강을 날마다 풍성히 누리고 나누시기를 축원합니다.

The Way to Obtain True Peace. (2 Thessalonians 3:16-18)
In every age, the world has always been full of troubles, and we human beings encounter problems in the field of everyday life. Most people respond to those problems with worry and humanism, lose peace of heart, and become even more bound. Even when world-class talents put their heads together, they have often become caught up in conflict and war. Currently, disasters are coming upon the whole world because of the Russia-Ukraine war and the Middle East war, and because of the struggles of the communist bloc, the situation in Northeast Asia is moving toward extreme tension. At all times, we must know what the problem is and hold to the true answer in order to raise the banner of peace.
1. The world has lost peace, and as time passes, it is becoming darker.
Everyone wants peace, but there is no true peace on this earth. Everyone hopes to live peacefully, hopes that military, political, and economic peace will be maintained without war, hopes that their families will be peaceful, and wants their hearts to be at peace. Every nation does its best to keep peace. But in this world, there has not been a single day when war has ceased. Peace within families is also not maintained well. Peace with neighbors is often broken, and peace of heart is not easily kept. People pursue material things in order to pursue happiness, but wherever much money flows, all kinds of evil overflow. Things like anxiety, worry, deep concern, suspicion, and hatred rise like smoke and often break the peace of the heart. All peace in the world is imperfect and temporary. As time goes by, it has become more difficult to find true peace in this world.
2. The reason mankind lost peace and the only way to regain it
After human beings, created in the image of God, rebelled against God, fell into sin, and were seized by darkness, they fundamentally lost peace. For people who are the image of God, there can be no true peace except the peace God gives. This peace that God gives can be enjoyed when reconciliation with God and peace with God are achieved. Those who do not enjoy peace with God and reconciliation with God do not even know this peace. In order to call us back into this peace, God established the new covenant. Anyone who repents of their original sin and personal sins, and receives and follows only “the Lord Jesus Christ” as Lord and Savior, can enter into this peace.
3. Jesus Christ is calling each person in order to give this peace.
Jesus is Christ, the King of Peace, who came to restore the peace that was broken because of man’s, Adam’s, original sin. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7) When we receive Jesus Christ, who knocks on the door of each person’s heart through evangelists (Revelation 3:20), as Lord and Savior (John 1:12), we receive forgiveness of sins, become children of God, and can enter into peace. However, if our attention moves away from the Lord whom we have received as Lord and Savior, we have no choice but to fall again into the swamp of anxiety, nervousness, and worry. That is why the Lord said, “Call to me,” meaning, “Come near to me.” The peace the Lord Jesus gives transcends circumstances. The apostle Paul prayed that we would enjoy peace “at all times and in every way,” that is, in every circumstance. This peace is not affected by anything that happens in the world. It transcends any human relationship.
Conclusion: For believers, there is an eternal homeland of peace that they will enter in the future.
Saints who now enjoy this peace in the Lord Jesus must keep in mind that in the future, they will enter a glorious and eternal kingdom of peace. There, we will enjoy perfect peace forever. (Isaiah 11:6-9, Isaiah 65:25) All tears, all death, and all pain will cease. (Revelation 21:3-4) Perfect peace is there. Perfect reconciliation and peace with God are there; there will be no lack there, and perfect reconciliation and peace with all people will come. All wars will cease. Please carefully examine where the center of your life is. We who live with the Lord Jesus as Lord and Savior no longer live a “self-centered” life, but a “Lord-centered” and “neighbor-centered” life. If we look at the world with self-centered eyes, we will not enjoy peace, but will live in worry. We will live a life unable to escape anxiety and nervousness. But when we fix the focus of all our attention on the Lord Jesus, live a life of being one with the Lord, and serve our neighbors, we enjoy true peace. Then we deeply experience how joyful and good it is to believe in Jesus. True peace is restored through a life that holds to and obeys the Lord’s Word. The first step is turning back from the self-centered road, the road of sin. It is turning back from a self-centered life that knows only oneself. Only then can we enjoy peace. A life that knows only oneself and lives only for oneself inevitably leads to fear, worry, and anxiety. The one life we live and pass through is the only opportunity to change our status into that of a Christian. Only in Christ are true peace and happiness.
