하나님과 함께 가는 복된 인생길(살후1:1-5)
전 세계적으로 확산된 우한 폐렴 바이러스로 인하여 교회 예배도 어렵게 되는 상태에 이르렀었습니다. 코로나 펜데믹이후 러우 전쟁이 벌어지고 미 이 이란 전쟁이 벌어졌습니다. 항상 다사다난하지만 절대주권으로 모든 것을 주관하시며 재창조 사역을 하시는 하나님은 우리에게 선물을 주실 때 이상한 포장지를 쓰실 때가 많다는 사실을 기억해야 합니다. 겉 포장만 보고 선물 자체를 팽개쳐버려서는 안 되겠지요? 데살로니가 교회도 여러 가지 박해와 환란에 휩싸여 있는 상태에서 내부에서는 주님 재림에 대한 오해의 바람이 몰아쳤습니다. 그들 중에는 예수님의 재림이 얼마 남지 않았다고 주장하며, 생업을 멈추고 흰옷을 입고 모이는 그룹까지 생겨난 듯합니다. 마귀는 아담 때부터 주님 재림 때까지 계속해서 하나님의 복음을 이용하여 속인다는 사실을 명심해야 합니다. 새 언약인 복음의 핵심은 동정녀를 통한 성육신과 십자가, 부활, 성령 강림, 예수님 재림, 모든 성도의 부활과 천국 입성입니다.
1. 성도는 어떤 상황에서든 그리스도 안에 있어야 합니다.
누구든 육신의 삶을 사는 인생길에는 고난이 따르게 마련입니다. 아담과 함께 모든 사람이 마귀에게 속아 복된 창조 언약을 깨고 반역하여 영원한 지옥형벌을 선고받은 상태에서 집행유예 기간을 사면 복권(재창조) 받을 기회로 살고 있기 때문입니다. 그러나 하나님의 절대주권은 불변합니다.
모든 문제에 대한 답은 나 자신이 아니라 그리스도이십니다. 문제와 고난을 직접 해결해보고자 나서서 속지 말아야 하고, 모든 문제 해결자이신 그리스도께 맡겨드려야 합니다. 주님께 맡기고 방주에 승선하여 항해하고 있으면 방주밖에서 고난의 파도에 휩싸여 있는 사람들에게 구원의 밧줄을 던져주는 일에 쓰임 받는 것입니다.
복음 전도와 천국을 위하여 고난을 받는다는 사실은 오히려 영광스러운 일인 것입니다. 온갖 박해와 핍박 그리고 많은 어려움 속에서 천국 복음 전파에 쓰임 받은 바울 자신은 고후 2:14 절에서 "항상 우리를 그리스도 안에서 이기게 하시고 우리로 말미암아 각처에서 그리스도를 아는 냄새를 나타내시는 하나님께 감사하노라"라고 고백하였습니다.
2. 주안에 거하면 믿음이 더욱더 자라게 됩니다.
하나님의 사랑은 멸망의 바다에 빠진 자들을 구원하신 것으로만 끝나는 것이 아닙니다. 건짐 받은 우리로 하여금 천성에 이르기까지 우리의 온 영과 혼과 몸이 천국 혼인 잔치 때에 흠없이 보존될 수 있도록 우리와 동행하시면서 치유하시며 자라게 하시고 능력으로 역사해 주시는 것입니다.
왜 모든 인생은 매년 다사다난했으며 환란과 핍박이 많았을까요? 세상 임금 마귀는 사람들의 원수라는 사실을 잘 알아야 합니다. 그래서 사람들로 하여금 복음 듣지 못하도록 모든 사회 문화 시스템을 흑암의 성으로 구축하며 속이는 것이지요. 그러나 하나님께서는 육신에 속한 자로 세상 신에 묶인 자가 아니라, 하나님의 영에 속한 자 되어 오직 주 예수그리스도만 바라며 오직 주님만을 위해 사는 성도들 속에서 영광을 받으십니다. 성도들 역시 영광을 얻으신 주님 안에서 영광을 누리도록 하셨습니다. 이와 같은 주님과 성도의 상호 영광은 재림의 날에 완전히 성취될 것입니다. 물론 이 모든 결과에 이르는 것은 인간의 의지나 능력이 아니라 은혜로 말미암는 것입니다.
3. 영에 속한 자로서 믿음이 자라면 주님 사랑 이웃사랑이 풍성해집니다.
바울은 데살로니가 교인들의 사랑이 점점 더 풍성해지는 것에 대하여 감사합니다. 교회 안에 서로에 대한 사랑이 풍성해 지고 있다면, 그 유일한 이유는 하나님의 사랑 안에 있기 때문입니다. 교회는 각계각층의 다양한 사람들로 구성되어 있습니다. 부자도 있고 가난한 자도 있습니다, 많이 배운 사람도 있고 못 배운 사람도 있습니다. 이렇게 다양한 사람들을 하나로 결속시켜 주는 것은 예수그리스도의 사랑뿐입니다. 교인들 한 사람 한 사람이 주 예수그리스도의 사랑 안에 있을 때 주변 사람들과 서로 사랑할 수 있습니다.
결론: 새 생명 얻어 천국 소망을 안고 천성 길을 가는 성도의 발걸음
성경은 그리스도로 말미암아 복음과 전도를 위하여 고난을 받는 사람을 두고 복된 사람이라고 말합니다. 왜냐하면, 그들에게 하나님 나라가 주어질 것이요, 또한 그 나라에서 큰 상을 받을 것이기 때문입니다(마태복음 5:10~12절). 흑암에 덮여 멸망의 파도가 넘실대는 세상에서, 우상을 버리고 그리스도를 좇는 사람은 당연히 고난을 받게 됩니다. 거기에 방주(그리스도) 안에서 구원의 밧줄을 던지고 끌어당기는 일에 쓰임 받을 때, 마귀는 총력을 다해 방해할 것입니다. 또한, 우상을 좇는 세상 사람은 자의든 타의든 그리스도를 좇는 사람에게 본능적으로 적대감을 가하게 됩니다. 이것이 어그러진 세상의 법칙이 되어있습니다.
우리가 아직 남아있는 순례의 길을 성공적으로 걸어갈 수 있도록 주님께서는 성경 말씀이라는 오류 없는 내비게이션을 선물로 주셨습니다. “주의 말씀은 내 발에 등이요 내 길에 빛이니이다”(시편119:105). 구원받자마자 바로 천국에 들어간다면 고장 수리도 받지 못한 상태에서 받을 상도 별로 없겠지요. 그러나 우리에게는 어두운 세상에서 천성 길을 걸어가며 고장 수리도 받으며 새롭게 변화됩니다. 또한, 우리가 든 등불을 보고 반응하는 구원키로 작정된 사람들도 만나게 될 것입니다. 우리 하나님께서는 그들을 우리에게 상급이요 면류관으로 주신다는 사실을 알아야 합니다. 그래서 하나님은 우리에게 이 광야길을 걷게 하신 것입니다. 우리가 이 땅의 어떤 어려움 속에서도 인내하며 살아갈 수 있는 이유는 우리 앞에 주어진 최고의 소망과 하나님 나라의 영광 때문입니다.

The Blessed Life Journey of Walking with God (2 Thessalonians 1:1-5)
Because of the Wuhan pneumonia coronavirus that spread worldwide, even church worship reached a point where it became difficult. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war broke out, followed by the U.S.-Israel-Iran war. Although the world is always full of events and troubles, we must remember that God, who governs everything by His absolute sovereignty and carries out the work of re-creation, often uses strange wrapping paper when He gives us gifts. We should not throw away the gift itself just because of its outer wrapping, should we? The Thessalonian church was also surrounded by various persecutions and tribulations, while internally a wave of misunderstanding concerning the Lord’s second coming swept through the church. It seems that among them there were even groups who claimed that Jesus’ return was very near, stopped working for a living, dressed in white, and gathered together. We must keep in mind that from the time of Adam until the Lord’s second coming, the devil continues to deceive people by using God’s gospel. The core of the gospel, the new covenant, is the incarnation through the virgin, the cross, the resurrection, the coming of the Holy Spirit, Jesus’ second coming, the resurrection of all the saints, and their entrance into heaven.
1. Saints must remain in Christ in every situation.
Whoever lives this physical life will inevitably encounter suffering along life’s journey. This is because all people, together with Adam, were deceived by the devil, broke the blessed covenant of creation, rebelled against God, and were sentenced to eternal punishment in hell, and are now living this suspended period of execution as an opportunity to receive pardon and restoration (re-creation). However, God’s absolute sovereignty never changes.
The answer to every problem is not myself, but Christ. We must not be deceived into trying to solve problems and suffering by ourselves, but must entrust them to Christ, who is the solution to every problem. When we entrust everything to the Lord, board the ark, and continue sailing, we are used to throw the rope of salvation to those outside the ark who are being swept away by the waves of suffering.
In fact, suffering for the gospel, evangelism, and the kingdom of heaven is a glorious thing. Paul himself, who was used to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom of heaven amid all kinds of persecution, oppression, and many difficulties, confessed in 2 Corinthians 2:14, “But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.”
2. When we remain in the Lord, our faith grows more and more.
God’s love does not end merely with saving those who had fallen into the sea of destruction. He walks with us who have been rescued until we reach the heavenly kingdom, healing us, causing us to grow, and working in us by His power so that our whole spirit, soul, and body may be kept blameless at the wedding banquet of heaven.
Why has every year of human life been filled with so many events, tribulations, and persecutions? We must clearly understand that the devil, the ruler of this world, is the enemy of people. That is why he deceives people by constructing every social and cultural system into a fortress of darkness so that they will not hear the gospel. However, God is glorified in the saints who are no longer people belonging to the flesh and bound to the god of this world, but have become people who belong to the Spirit of God, look only to the Lord Jesus Christ, and live only for the Lord. The saints also have been made to enjoy glory in the Lord who has been glorified. This mutual glory of the Lord and the saints will be completely fulfilled on the day of the second coming. Of course, all these results come not through human will or ability, but by grace.
3. When our faith grows as people who belong to the Spirit, love for the Lord and love for our neighbors become abundant.
Paul gives thanks that the love of the Thessalonian believers is becoming more and more abundant. If love for one another is becoming abundant within the church, the one and only reason is that they are in God’s love. The church is made up of many different kinds of people from all walks of life. There are rich people and poor people, highly educated people and those who are less educated. The only thing that can unite such diverse people as one is the love of Jesus Christ. When each and every church member remains in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ, they can love one another and the people around them.
Conclusion: The steps of saints who have received new life and walk the heavenly path with the hope of heaven
The Bible calls those who suffer for the gospel and evangelism because of Christ blessed people. This is because the kingdom of God will be given to them, and they will also receive a great reward in that kingdom (Matthew 5:10-12). In a world covered in darkness and surging with waves of destruction, those who abandon idols and follow Christ will naturally face suffering. Moreover, when they are used from within the ark (Christ) to throw out the rope of salvation and pull people in, the devil will do everything in his power to hinder them. Also, people of the world who follow idols will instinctively show hostility toward those who follow Christ, whether intentionally or unintentionally. This has become the law of this distorted world.
So that we may successfully walk the remaining path of our pilgrimage, the Lord has given us the gift of an error-free navigation system: the Word of Scripture. “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105) If we entered heaven immediately after receiving salvation, we would enter without even having our broken parts repaired, and there would not be much reward for us to receive. But while walking the heavenly path in this dark world, we are repaired and newly transformed. We will also meet people appointed for salvation who respond when they see the lamp we are carrying. We must know that our God gives them to us as our reward and crown. That is why God has made us walk this wilderness road. The reason we can endure and live through any difficulty on this earth is because of the greatest hope set before us and the glory of the kingdom of God.
