The Vessel God Uses Preciously

The Vessel God Uses Preciously

In the Bible, people are compared to vessels: vessels of gold, silver, wood, and clay. It says that whatever kind of vessel it is, if anyone

cleanses themselves from unrighteousness, they will become a vessel used preciously. A vessel used preciously is not determined

by worldly price, size, or greatness, but by becoming a clean vessel. It says to cleanse oneself from unrighteousness.

To put this simply, if a pet dog growls at the owner who raises it, cares for it, and feeds it, that is unrighteousness.

Ignoring or despising God, who created all things for me, made me, and is caring for me, is unrighteousness.

Nietzsche, who was the son of a pastor and even studied theology, claimed, “God is dead.” But Nietzsche himself lost his mind

and died in a mental hospital. Then, specifically, what kind of vessel, or person, is used preciously in the world and church God created?

1. We must strive to fully offer ourselves to God.

We were created in the image of God, but we violated the first covenant, rebelled against God, became our own masters, and were

distorted into the image of each individual person; this is original sin. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Just as Jesus fully offered Himself for our sins, now we who believe must live a life of

striving to fully offer ourselves to the Lord Jesus Christ. Only when we become one with the Lord, who is the true truth, can we gain

freedom from all curses and bondage.

Living appropriately according to the purpose for which God chose and called us is the most blessed life in Jesus.

We must believe that God, who created us, has a unique plan for each of us. In 2 Timothy, the apostle Paul said, “In a large house

there are many vessels. There are vessels of gold and silver, and also vessels of wood and clay; some are used for honorable purposes

and some for dishonorable purposes. But if anyone cleanses themselves, they can become a holy vessel, fit for the Master’s use,

and used preciously.”

2. First, we must cleanse ourselves as vessels.

God the Creator made each of us into different vessels according to His need. This does not mean that a clay vessel should strive to

become a gold vessel. It means that even a clay vessel that appears insignificant in the eyes of the world can be used preciously

if it is clean. Through the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, we can be made clean. Through God’s Word, we can be made clean.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can be made clean. The Bible also says that if we become clean, we become holy vessels used

preciously.

Jacob was a person who had received the covenant, but he was someone who used self-centered means and methods and strove only

for selfish purposes. However, when he was in crisis and held only to God, clung to Him, and prayed by the Jabbok River,

God made him limp and changed his name. It means, “Do not act however you want; be still and follow Me.”

The state in which each of us who has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior holds to the Word given, receives the filling of

the Holy Spirit, and focuses on the Lord is the state of a clean vessel. We must become branches fully united with the Lord,

who is the true vine.

3. We must become vessels fit for the Master’s use.

Who is the Master of our lives? God is our Master. Therefore, we must not live according to our own hearts and our own will, but live a life that gives glory before God and a life that pleases God. Just as a potter makes vessels from clay, God made each person’s life.

A vessel must be one that the master can comfortably use anytime and for anything; if it is inconvenient to use, it has little value.

In that sense, the saints, who are vessels of the church, must become vessels that are comfortable for God to use.

The “every good work” spoken of in the Bible is “the work of giving glory to God.” The work of evangelism, being used to save people

who have fallen into original sin, have been sentenced to eternal punishment in hell, and are living as slaves of the devil, is a good work.

Expanding God’s kingdom is a good work. It is being used as a coworker in God’s work of re-creation, the work of salvation.

Conclusion: Being used by God is the greatest blessing.

Making a lot of money, becoming famous, and succeeding socially are not blessings. It becomes a blessing only when God uses us.

Even if we have everything, if we are not used by God, it is of no use. God using me is the blessing. God’s calling of us means,

“I, the Creator, will use you, My creature, according to the purpose for which I made you.” A calling means discovering the purpose

for which God created me and saved me, and resolving to be used for that purpose.

We think that impressive people are used in God’s kingdom. That is not so. Look at Jesus’ disciples. Every one of them was lacking.

Among them, the disciple who was a little smart was Judas Iscariot. There is not a single life God cannot use. There is no life so broken

that God cannot use it. There is no one so weak that God cannot use them.

Please keep in mind that we are vessels God uses, and may you be used preciously.
