이 시대에 나는 누구인가?

 

 

 

휴대폰은 전 세계인들이 대부분 소유하고 사용하고 있는 문명의 걸작품입니다. 그 작은게 얼마나 많은 기능들이 있는지 놀라울 따름입니다. 그런데 어떤 분이 “휴대폰 그거 수억 년 동안 수많은 종류의 먼지들이 결합되고 분해되는 과정에서 우연히 만들어진 것이다”라고 주장한다면 황당하겠지요? 사람과 휴대폰을 감히 비교할 수 없으나, 그 육신의 기능만도 현대 과학이 겨우 일부분 정도나 약간 밝히고 있는게 인체의 신비입니다. 그런데 이 영적존재인 사람을 우연히 생겼고 진화해가는 과정이라고 주장하고 있는 거짓 가설을 진리인 양 배우고 있는 게 현대교육의 현실입니다. 그러다 보니 공산 사회주의자들은 개인 생명의 존엄성을 인정하지않고, 대부분의 사람들은 ‘나는 누구며 이 시대는 어떤 시대인지’도 모르는 채 그냥 별 의미도 가치도 없이 살아가고 있는 건 아닌지 점검해 봐야 합니다.

 

1. 사람이 기본 양심으로 “나는 누구인가”를 질문하면 답을 붙들 수 있습니다.

스스로 존재하시는 분이 하나님이십니다. 모든 만물은 창조주 하나님에 의해 각기 그 종류대로 창조되었음을 창세기 1장이 밝히고 있습니다. 만물의 영장인 사람은 선한 양심으로 ‘나는 누구인가?’를 질문하면 ‘지으신 분과 보내신 분’이 누구신지 짐작할 수 있습니다. 그 후 하나님의 성경 첫 장을 살펴보면 “내가 만물의 창조주요, 내가 너도 지었다”라고 쉽고 확실하게 밝히고 계십니다. 오직 성경(Bible)만 이를 확실하게 밝히고 있습니다. 다른 모든 경전은 뭔가 복잡하고 깊은 척 비비 꼬아져 있고, 깊이 연구하다 보면 더더욱 헷갈리게 만들어져 있습니다.

성경은 만물의 영장인 사람이 기본적으로 알아야 할 다섯 가지를 밝혀줍니다.

1) 왜 자신이 누군지도 모른 채 멸망상태에 빠졌는가? 2) 그 멸망상태에서 구원받을 수 있는 길은 무엇인가? 3) 구원은 어떻게 받는가? 4) 구원받으면 어떻게 되는가? 5) 구원받은 자의 신분과 권세 그리고 축복은 무엇이며 어떻게 누리는가?

이 기본 다섯가지도 모르는 채 잘살아 보려고 몸부림치면 너나없이 불행해집니다.

 

2. 다섯 가지 기본을 알고 붙들면 구원 주 하나님의 보내심을 받게 됩니다.

성경에 기록된 많은 사람들은 ‘보내심을 받은 자'들입니다. ‘보내심을 받은 자'들은 보내신 분의 전권을 위임받아 각기에게 주어진 시대와 지역에서 하나님의 대사로 쓰임 받게 됩니다. 베드로전서 2:9절과 같이 구원받은 사람은 이 시대 이곳에 파송된 하나님의 전권대사의 직임을 누리며 사명을 감당하게 되지요.

사도 바울은 구원의 주 하나님과 우리의 소망이신 그리스도 예수님의 명령에 따라 그리스도 예수님의 사도가 되었다고 밝혔습니다. 모든 사람이 원죄 아래 빠져버린 이후 우리 구주 하나님께서 그리스도를 통해 구원하시겠다는 새 언약을 세워주셨고, 직접 그리스도로 오셔서 우리의 소망이 되어 주셨음을 선포하며 살았습니다. 이처럼 부르심을 받은 시대에 그리스도의 증인이 되어 하나님의 재창조 사역인 구원 사역에 쓰임 받으려면 무엇보다 부르심에 대한 확신이 있어야 합니다. 하나님께서는 아무리 작고 낮은 직무라도 부르심의 은혜에 감사하고, 전 삶을 통해 헌신하는 자들을 귀히 쓰십니다.

 

3. 주어진 시대에 사명자로 산 자들은 차세대 복음 주자를 세우고 떠나게 됩니다.

사도 바울은 1,2,3차 전도 여행을 통해 디모데를 복음 안으로 불렀고 선교 동역자로 세워 동행하다가 차세대 복음 주자로 세워놓고 천국에 입성했습니다. 디모데는 바울이 로마 옥중에 있을 때도 감옥에서 바울을 섬겼습니다. 우리도 바울과 디모데처럼 부름을 받았습니다.

우리 각 사람에게 복음을 전해준 바울은 누구며, 내가 복음 전하고 세우고 있는 디모데는 누구입니까? 이 땅에서 가장 중요한 관계이며 새 하늘 새 땅에서의 영원한 삶 속에서도 중요한 관계가 지속될 것입니다.

그러나 대부분의 양심 불량한 사람들은 복음을 들어도 영원한 본향인 천국보다는 잠시 준비 기간을 살다 갈 이 세상에서의 복을 좋아하기 때문에 영안이 열리지 않고 종교생활에 머물게 됩니다. 선한 양심을 가지고 전달받은 복음을 전심으로 붙들려고 하면 성령님의 감화로 인하여 예수그리스도를 구주로 모시고 성령충만을 받을 수 있습니다. 그러면 복음 받아 재창조되어 가고 있는 우리에게는 지도받았던 바울이 있고 후계자로 세울 디모데가 있을 것입니다.

 

결론: 구원받은 우리는 세상으로 보내심을 받아 복음 전하는 사명을 받았습니다.

보내심을 받은 자는 ’나를 보내신 분이 누구시며 얼마나 사랑이 많은 분이신지‘를 전할 수 있게 됩니다. 이 시대 우리에게 맡겨진 현장에서 우리 모두는 주님의 사도입니다. 우리는 아직 주님을 모르는 자들에게 복된 소식을 전하기 위해 예수그리스도로부터 보냄을 받은 자들입니다. 우리가 예수그리스도를 구주로 모셨기에 주님이 나의 왕이 되셨고 왕께서 자신을 나타내시기 위해 우리를 이 땅 가운데 보내셨습니다.

이 시대 복음 전도의 주자로 부름을 받은 우리는 서로를 위해 지속적으로 하나님의 은혜와 긍휼, 그리고 평강이 우리의 신앙생활 속에 늘 충만하기를 간구해야 합니다.

Who Am I in This Age?

 

The cell phone is a masterpiece of civilization that most people around the world own and use. It is truly amazing how many functions such a small device has. But if someone claimed, “That cell phone was made by chance through a process in which countless kinds of dust combined and separated over hundreds of millions of years,” it would be absurd, wouldn’t it? Of course, people and cell phones cannot even be compared, but even the functions of the physical body alone are a mystery of the human body that modern science has only barely uncovered in part. Yet the reality of modern education is that people are learning as truth the false hypothesis that this spiritual being, mankind, came into existence by chance and is in the process of evolution. As a result, communist socialists do not acknowledge the dignity of individual life, and most people may be living without knowing “who I am and what kind of age this is,” simply living without much meaning or value. We must examine this.

 

1. If a person asks, “Who am I?” with basic conscience, they can hold to the answer.

God is the One who exists by Himself. Genesis 1 reveals that all creation was created according to its kind by God the Creator. If mankind, the crown of all creation, asks with a good conscience, “Who am I?” then one can sense who the “One who made me and sent me” is. After that, when one looks at the first chapter of God’s Bible, He reveals easily and clearly, “I am the Creator of all things, and I made you too.” Only the Bible reveals this clearly. All other scriptures are twisted in complicated ways, pretending to be something deep, and the more you study them deeply, the more confusing they become.

The Bible reveals five things that people, as the crown of all creation, must basically know.

1) Why did I fall into a state of destruction without even knowing who I am? 2) What is the way to be saved from that state of destruction? 3) How does one receive salvation? 4) What happens when one receives salvation? 5) What are the identity, authority, and blessings of the one who has received salvation, and how can they enjoy them?

If people struggle to live well without even knowing these five basics, everyone becomes unhappy.

 

2. When we know and hold to the five basics, we are sent by God, the Lord of salvation.

Many people recorded in the Bible are “those who were sent.” “Those who were sent” are entrusted with the full authority of the One who sent them and are used as God’s ambassadors in the age and region given to each of them. As in 1 Peter 2:9, a person who has received salvation enjoys the position of an ambassador with full authority, sent by God to this age and this place, and carries out their mission.

The apostle Paul revealed that he had become an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope. After all people fell under original sin, our Savior God established the new covenant that He would save us through Christ, and Paul lived proclaiming that God Himself came as Christ and became our hope. In this way, in order to be used in God’s work of salvation, which is His work of re-creation, as a witness of Christ in the age in which we have been called, we must have assurance of our calling above all else. God highly uses those who are thankful for the grace of calling, even in very small and lowly duties, and devote themselves through their whole lives.

 

3. Those who lived as people of mission in the age given to them establish the next generation of gospel runners before they depart.

Through his first, second, and third missionary journeys, the apostle Paul called Timothy into the gospel, established him as a missions coworker, walked with him, and then set him up as a next-generation gospel runner before entering heaven. Timothy served Paul in prison even when Paul was imprisoned in Rome. We too have been called like Paul and Timothy.

Who is the Paul who preached the gospel to each of us, and who is the Timothy whom I am evangelizing and establishing? This is the most important relationship on this earth, and that important relationship will continue even in eternal life in the new heaven and new earth.

However, most people with a bad conscience, even when they hear the gospel, prefer blessings in this world where they will live for a short preparation period rather than heaven, their eternal homeland. Therefore, their spiritual eyes do not open, and they remain in religious life. If they try to hold wholeheartedly to the gospel they have received with a good conscience, then through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit they can receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Then for us, who have received the gospel and are being re-created, there will be a Paul who guided us and a Timothy whom we will establish as a successor.

 

Conclusion: We who have received salvation have been sent into the world and have received the mission of proclaiming the gospel.

Those who have been sent come to be able to proclaim “who the One who sent me is and how loving He is.” In the field entrusted to us in this age, we are all apostles of the Lord. We are those sent by Jesus Christ to proclaim the good news to those who still do not know the Lord. Because we have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the Lord has become my King, and the King has sent us into this world to reveal Himself.

We who have been called as runners of gospel evangelism in this age must continually pray for one another so that God’s grace, mercy, and peace may always be full in our life of faith.
