내 수준이 아니라 하나님 수준으로 살길이 열렸습니다.

 

기독교의 복음은 ‘나’를 위한 종교가 아니라 예수그리스도를 구주로 모시고 한 몸 되어 하나님의 생명인 영생의 삶을 시작하는 새 생명, 새 생활입니다. 마틴 루터의 종교개혁 이후 5백 년이 지나면서 기독교의 복음이 대부분 ‘나’를 위한 종교로 전락해버렸습니다.

모든 각 사람은 이 세상에서 단 한 번 육신의 삶을 사는 동안 구원받을 수 있는 기회가 주어져 있습니다. 그런데 기독교회마저 ‘1) 왜 인간은 꼭 구원받아야 하는지?’ ‘2) 구원받는다는 게 뭔지?’ ‘3) 구원받은 자는 어떻게 사는지?’에 대한 3대 기본 질문에 대한 답도 없이 그저 ‘나, 돈, 성공’을 위하여 교회당에 출석하는 수준이 되어버린 것입니다. 그러다 보니 ‘개독교’라는 소리를 듣게 되었고, 코로나팬데믹으로 인하여 정기 예배마저 이상해져 버린 상황을 맞게 된 것입니다. 또한 복음 붙든 청교도들을 중심으로 전 세계인들이 모여 자유민주주의의 선봉 국가로 세워진 미국마저 PC좌파 운동과 선거 부정의 소용돌이에 휩싸여 가치 주권 자유 민주국가 시스템이 뿌리째 흔들렸었습니다. 이 어려운 시국에 복음 붙든 우리는 어찌해야 합니까? 성경 디모데후서 2장 1절은 ”그러므로 내 아들아, 너는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 은혜 속에서 강하라“ 하십니다.

 

1. 복음 붙든 사람은 주 예수그리스도 안으로 온전히 이주해야 합니다.

디모데후서 2장 1절 말씀은 ”내 아들아 주변 상황으로 인하여 두려워하거나 염려하지 말아라. 너를 구원하신 하나님이 너와 함께 계시니 너는 주 예수님과 하나 되어 강하라”는 말입니다. 세상과 교회에 양다리 걸친채 살지말고 그리스도 안으로 온전히 이사들어오라는 말씀입니다. 이렇게 선포하고 외치고 있는 바울은 주 예수그리스도 안에 있는 자신의 존재를 ‘예수그리스도의 종 된 나 바울’이라고 말하고 있습니다.

혹시 “나는 절대 다른 존재의 종이 될 수 없습니다. 나의 주인은 오직 나입니다.”라고 착각하고 계시지는 않습니까? 본래 인간은 하나님의 형상으로 창조되었음을 모른다고 할지라도, 가만히 생각해 보세요. 사실은 ‘나는 누구인가?’도 모르는 상태에서 “나의 주인은 나입니다” 이 말은 곧 “나는 나 자신이 누구인지도 모르는 나의 종입니다”라는 말과 같습니다. 잘 생각해 보세요. 나 자신이 누구인지도 모르는, 연약하고 유한하고 한 시간 뒤의 일도 모르는 나 자신의 종이 되는 게 행복하겠습니까? 전능하시고 모든 것을 아시는 하나님의 종이 되는 게 행복하겠습니까?

 

2. 내가 나의 주인인 사람은 나 이상의 삶을 살 수 없습니다.

하지만 내가 주 예수님의 부르심을 받아 주님의 종이 되었음을 인정하는 사람은 하나님 수준의 삶을 살 수 있습니다. 당대 사람들이 부러워할 만한 것은 거의 소유하고 있었던 유대교 청년 지도자 바울은 자칭 그리스도라 칭하며 처형당했던 예수라는 사람이 말씀하신 데로 부활하셨다며 거짓 소문을 퍼뜨리는 자들을 죽이는 일에 앞장섰던 사람이었습니다. 초대교회 교인들을 색출하여 죽이고자 다메섹으로 가던 길에서 부활하신 그리스도를 만난 뒤 바울의 인생은 완전히 달라졌습니다. 자신의 모든 실존을 그리스도 예수님 안으로 이주하여서 한 몸이 되었습니다. 바울의 거듭난 인생은 자신의 모든 것을 주 예수님께 맡기는 삶에서부터 시작합니다.

그러한 바울이 마지막 유언과 같은 디모데후서를 통해서 디모데에게 그리스도 예수님 안에 있는 은혜 속으로 들어가 모든 권세를 가지신 주의 이름으로 살며 강하라고 명하고 있는 것입니다. 바울은 자신이 핍박했었던 예수가 자기의 구주요 창조주요 모든 인류를 구원한 진정한 메시아라는 사실을 알고 자신의 모든 것을 주님께 맡겼고, 디모데에게도 그리하라고 명하고 있는 것입니다.

3. 주 예수님께 자신을 온전히 맡긴 사람은 하나님 수준의 삶을 살게 됩니다.

세상 부귀 안일함을 추구하며 세상의 종노릇 하며 살던 삶에서 완전히 해방된 그곳에서 작은 그리스도의 삶을 살게 되었습니다. 성 삼위 하나님의 보호 인도 속에 천군 천사들의 수종을 받으며 복음 전하는 삶을 살게 된 것입니다. 디모데후서를 기록할 당시 사도 바울은 로마 감옥에 투옥된 상태에서 사형 집행을 앞두고 있었습니다. 그러나 바울이 로마에 잡힌 게 아니었고 로마가 바울에게 잡혔다는 사실은 역사가 증명하고 있습니다. 바울은 디모데에게 평소에 전도하고, 설교하고, 가르치고, 훈련한 모든 내용들을 회상시키며 이 복음을 또 다른 충성된 자들에게 위탁할 것을 명하고 있습니다.

사도 바울에게서 말씀으로 양육되고 훈련된 디모데는 또 다른 충성된 사람들을 세워 복음 전도의 바통을 전달할 사명을 받았습니다. 이 복음 전도의 바통이 로마와 유럽, 미국을 거쳐 한국과 필리핀에까지 이르게 된 것입니다. 이 복음 전도사역은 가장 기본적인 사역이요, 동시에 우리가 이 세상을 떠나는 날까지 계속 감당해야 하는 가장 필수적인 사역입니다. 우리가 받은 복음은 반드시 대를 이어 계승되어야 합니다. 하나님의 나라는 세대를 이어 전진하고 확장되고 있기 때문입니다. 이 복음의 바통은 먼저 믿음의 길을 달리고 있는 자들이 복음의 가치를 삶으로 증명하며 전달해 주어야 합니다.

주님은 복음 전도자들과 함께 지구를 운행하고 계십니다. 마태복음의 최종 약속인 “볼지어다 내가 세상 끝날까지 너희와 항상 함께 있으리라” 하셨던 주님께서 항상 함께하시며 붙들어주고 계십니다. 어떤 상황 속에서도 속지 마시고 승리하시기 바랍니다.

The Way To Live, Not at My Level, but at God’s Level, Has Opened.

 

The gospel of Christianity is not a religion for 'me,' but a new life, a new way of living, embracing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and becoming one with Him to begin a life of eternal life, which is God's life. Five hundred years after Martin Luther's Reformation, the gospel of Christianity has largely degenerated into a religion 'for me.'

Every individual is given a single opportunity in this world to be saved during their earthly life. Yet, even the Christian church has fallen to the level of attending church merely for 'me, money, and success,' without answers to the three fundamental questions: '1) Why must humans be saved?' '2) What does it mean to be saved?' '3) How do those who are saved live?' As a result, it has come to be called 'Gae-dokgyo' (a derogatory term for Christianity in Korea), and with the COVID-19 pandemic, even regular worship services have become abnormal. Furthermore, even America, a pioneering nation of free democracy built by people from all over the world centered on Puritans holding onto the gospel, was engulfed in the whirlwind of PC left-wing movements and election fraud, shaking the system of a value-sovereign, free democratic nation to its roots. In these difficult times, what should we, who hold onto the gospel, do? The Bible, 2 Timothy 2:1, says, “You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)

 

1. Those who hold onto the gospel must fully migrate into the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Word in 2 Timothy 2:1 means, “My son, do not be afraid or anxious because of surrounding circumstances. The God who saved you is with you, so be strong by being one with the Lord Jesus.” It is a Word for us not to live with one foot in the world and one in the church, but to fully move into Christ. Paul, who declares and proclaims this, describes his own existence in the Lord Jesus Christ as ‘I, Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ.’

Are you perhaps mistaken in thinking, “I can never be a servant to any other being. I am my own master”? Even if you don't know that humans were originally created in the image of God, just think about it quietly. In fact, saying “I am my own master” while not even knowing ‘Who am I?’ is equivalent to saying “I am a servant to myself, not even knowing who I am.” Think carefully. Would you be happy being a servant to yourself, someone weak, finite, and unaware of what will happen an hour from now? Or would you be happy being a servant to the almighty and all-knowing God?

 

2. A person who is their own master cannot live a life beyond their own level.

However, a person who acknowledges that they have received the calling of the Lord Jesus and become a servant of the Lord can live a life at God's level. Paul, a young Jewish leader who possessed almost everything people of his time would envy, was a man who led the effort to kill those who spread false rumors that a man named Jesus, who called himself Christ and was executed, had resurrected as He had said. After encountering the resurrected Christ on his way to Damascus to seek out and kill early church members, Paul's life completely changed. He migrated his entire being into Christ Jesus, becoming one body with Him. Paul's born-again life began from entrusting everything he had to the Lord Jesus.

Through 2 Timothy, which is like his final will, Paul commands Timothy to enter into the grace that is in Christ Jesus, to live and be strong in the name of the Lord, who has all authority. Paul, knowing that Jesus, whom he had persecuted, was his Lord and Savior, his Creator, and the true Messiah who saved all humanity, entrusted everything he had to the Lord, and he commands Timothy to do the same.

3. A person who fully entrusts themselves to the Lord Jesus will live a life at God's level.

Having been completely freed from a life that pursued worldly wealth and comfort, serving the world, they began to live a small Christ-like life. Under the protection and guidance of the Triune God, receiving the service of heavenly hosts and angels, they lived a life of proclaiming the gospel. At the time of writing 2 Timothy, the Apostle Paul was imprisoned in Rome, awaiting execution. However, history proves that Paul was not captured by Rome, but Rome was captured by Paul. Paul reminds Timothy of all the things he had preached, taught, and trained him in, and commands him to entrust this gospel to other faithful people.

Timothy, nurtured and trained by the Word from the Apostle Paul, received the mission to raise other faithful people and pass on the baton of gospel evangelism. This baton of gospel evangelism has reached Korea and the Philippines, passing through Rome, Europe, and America. This gospel evangelism ministry is the most fundamental ministry, and at the same time, the most essential ministry we must continue until the day we leave this world. The gospel we have received must be passed on from generation to generation. This is because the kingdom of God is advancing and expanding across generations. This gospel baton must be passed on by those who are already running the race of faith, demonstrating the value of the gospel through their lives.

The Lord operates the earth together with evangelists. The Lord, who made the final promise in Matthew, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age,” (NIV Matthew 28:20) is always with us and holding us up. Do not be deceived by any circumstances, and may you be victorious.
