The Secret Key to Opening Blocked Doors

It was Adam and all humanity within him who, through rebellion, turned their relationship with the Creator God into one of enmity. Nevertheless, God, who loved us, established a new covenant, promising to resolve all our problems through Christ. To fulfill this promise, the Creator God took on flesh like ours and came as Christ. That day is called Christmas. Of course, it is not recorded that Christmas Day was precisely December 25th. However, because God, the Master of all time and space, became incarnate within time and space, every single day of the year becomes Christmas everywhere. Jesus Christ, who lived the life of the second Adam as a model for the redeemed, was meek and humble, even to bearing the cross of atoning death for the sake of sinners who rebelled against Him. Therefore, God gave Him the name that is above every name, and caused every knee to bow before the name of Jesus. He became the Lord and Savior who saves and rules the whole world.

1. God's Purpose for Each of Us

God's purpose for us is to clothe us with the image of Christ and to make us meek, disciplined by the Word. Romans 8:29 says, “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” (NIV) Romans 8:28 says, “And in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (NIV) When it says that all things work together for good, it means that God is making us more like Jesus. Everything we experience in our faith journey has one purpose. It is to become more like Jesus. Everything we encounter on our faith journey makes us more like the Lord. This is how all things work together for good. Meekness is a vessel that holds God's blessings. When Jesus spoke of the Beatitudes, Matthew 5:5 says, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” (NIV) This 'earth' has two meanings: ① It refers to the (heaven) that we possess, the heaven we will inherit as children of God. ② It refers to the areas we will minister, serve, and rule over.

2. God Makes Believers Meek and Grants Them Victory.

Abraham, holding onto the renewed new covenant concerning “the Christ who would come to the land of Canaan through your descendants,” left his homeland and embarked on a journey of covenant. Abraham, who moved extensively throughout Haran, Canaan, Egypt, Sodom, and various places in Canaan, built altars for the LORD everywhere he went and lived a life of victory, becoming meek. Isaac, who was almost offered as a burnt offering on the altar built by Abraham, lived a life of victory as a meek man his entire life. His son Jacob lived as a master of humanism, but during a crisis, while praying, he was changed by God's grace into limping Israel and lived a life of victory as a meek patriarch of the twelve tribes. Joseph, who inherited that covenant, lived that way, and David also lived that way. Finally, Joseph became prime minister and David became king, serving their brothers. Meekness triumphed. Above all, Jesus lived that way. Jesus said, “I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (NIV Matthew 11:29) The culmination of the Lord's meekness was His atoning death on the cross, and by His resurrection, He achieved complete victory. He became the model of a meek life and achieved eternal victory.

3. God Commands Believers to Be Meek Toward Everyone.

Whenever Paul introduced himself, he referred to himself as '<Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus>.' The Greek word <doulos>, meaning servant, means slave. Paul states that he is entirely the Lord's possession. A slave must live for his master, according to the master's will and commands, never his own will. This is the meaning of the Greek word <doulos>. The Lord tells us, His servants, to be meek. He tells us to treat and teach everyone with meekness. Our calling Jesus 'Lord' and the statement 'we are the Lord's slaves' have the same meaning. Please obey the Lord's command to be meek toward everyone. He even tells us to treat those who resist with meekness. God might grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. (NIV 2 Timothy 2:25-26)

Meekness is not something we can obtain through effort. Meekness comes from the peace of living as one with Jesus. True meekness comes from Jesus being crucified and dying for all my sins, resurrecting and possessing all authority in heaven and on earth, and being with me. People transformed by being one with Jesus live lives that bear fruit like the Sermon on the Mount. It is like a branch bearing grapes simply by remaining attached to the vine. During the year-end and New Year holidays within the 365 days of Christmas, always enjoying fellowship with the Lord and with the meekness that obeys God's Word, I bless you that blocked doors may open.
