Exodus 4
Take Off Your Sandals (Exodus 3:1-12)
A person's value is evaluated according to what he lives for, who he works for, and what he is used for. People feel true happiness when others need them and recognize their worth. When women in ancient Korea got married, they began a life of slavery called in-laws. However, such a harsh and difficult in-law life changes when she has a child. Because the only person the child absolutely needs is his mother. If there is someone who truly needs me, that is a sufficient reason for me to live, and that is where a little
happiness begins. However, if you know God's purpose for running the earth and the purpose of life given to you, things will be
fundamentally different. In Christ, I can discover the unique reason why God, who created me, allowed me to live my life here
and in this era. In God's eyes, we are an indispensable being.
1. What kind of person was Moses in the text?
1) Moses was a fugitive wanted by the king of Egypt as a murderer.
2) Moses was a man who lived in-laws house and raised sheep.
3) Moses lived as a shepherd for 40 years and has now become an 80-year-old man.
4) At this time that God called Moses.
2. The despair of eighty-year-old Moses was the beginning of God.
1) The rest of Moses’ life changed completely from the moment he was called by God.
2) Past events from Moses' eighty years of life now take on new meaning.
3) After completing his royal education, Moses entered the wilderness school and experienced self-abandonment.
4) Upon graduating from wilderness school, Moses receives a call from God.
3. Three commands that God gave to Moses
1) The first command is, ‘Take off your sandals’
2) The second command is ‘Believe and follow’.
3) The third command is ‘Go to the king of Egypt and the people of Israel.’
4) Two promises are given along with three commands.
Conclusion: What is the word given to us today through Moses?
1) He tells us to take off our shoes and follow only the Lord at His feet.
2) We must enter into the purpose of God who is currently operating the earth.
3) All of this will be done by God through Moses.
4) This is how God calls us.
At this point in time, each of us are absolutely needed by God, so He placed us on this earth. We are not on this earth by
our own accord or accident. When you realize that you are needed by God and that you are being used to this extent,
you will be able to enjoy the value of your existence and true happiness from that moment. God, who gave birth to Moses
and raised him through his parents who kept the covenant, grew Moses into a prince of Egypt. Also, Moses, who was
a prince of Egypt, was made to work as a shepherd for 40 years, which was looked down upon by the Egyptians.
God does God's work in God's time and in God's way. I pray in the name of the Lord that you will enjoy the fact
that I am in it as the blessing of Immanuel and that you will be used preciously.
