Why Must People Believe in Jesus Christ?
Human civilization is developing day by day, but mental health problems are also reaching a serious level worldwide. For example, depression is becoming increasingly prevalent, and various addictions and crimes are becoming commonplace. The more advanced a country is, the more serious the problem becomes. The fundamental reason is that people are going against the natural order and pursuing the unnatural. Because breathing, food, and relationships are all rushing toward the unnatural, it has become difficult to find peace in life.
The foundation of the natural order is the basic order between the Creator God, humans, and all things. God designed and created all things. He created all things for humans, and He created humans to always be with Him. God is the One who speaks, and humans are the beings who say “Amen” to His Word and follow them. If a person disobeys God's Word, that itself is rebellion. They hold onto the lies of the devil, who has been sentenced to eternal hell, and break the foundation of the creation covenant (Genesis 3:1-6). With the first man, Adam, all the people who were in him committed original sin, fell short of the glory of God, and were sentenced to eternal hell. This became the destiny of all people. Nevertheless, God loved us and established the covenant of Christ for us to receive amnesty and obtain eternal new life (Genesis 3:15). The 66 books of the Bible are the covenant of Christ that people must hold onto.
1. People must hold onto the covenant of Christ to be liberated from destiny.
In the Bible and church history, you can meet many blessed figures who lived the journey of the covenant and benefited the world. No one can excuse themselves by saying they didn't know and lived poorly, and therefore had no choice but to go to hell. This is because the Bible, history, and evangelists have been available to anyone in any era, and because what can be known about God is plain to them, since God has shown it to them (Romans 1:20). Although the country was ruined and taken captive to Babylon, Daniel and his three friends, who knew God and knew why it had happened, made up their minds and lived the journey of the covenant. As a result, Daniel became the Prime Minister of Babylon and Persia, greatly helping many kings and living a life of testifying to the covenant of Christ throughout the world. They knew why they had been taken captive. So the answer was simple, and they held onto the covenant of Christ that God had given them. No matter what situation you find yourself in, if you realize the reason and hold onto the covenant of Christ, you will escape from destiny and live in the blessing of being with God.
2. Those who are saved naturally live a life with God.
When you live a life with God, you are given the Word that follow the flow of the gospel, and you grow up eating the milk of this Word. In the past, you lived a life centered on yourself, dragged around by Satan, and struggling for the wrong success. You lived in worry, not even knowing what happiness was. But now that your destiny has changed and you have obtained new life, why should you live centered on yourself? Before, you lived in a state of being cut off from God, thinking that God did not exist, but now you live enjoying being with God and becoming the temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16), so naturally you live centered on God. To exclude God and live centered on yourself and your own interests is the greatest crime before God. Of course, it is a sin when we make mistakes and do something wrong, but being self-centered is a fundamentally destructive crime.
3. After Noah, Abraham was established as the father of faith.
God called Abraham, a man of faith, and commanded him, "Go to the land I will show you." He did not tell him a specific place but told him to go to the land He would show him, which means that He would always be with him and guide him with His word. The same is true for us today. That is why it is important to hold on to the Word of God proclaimed through the pastor of the church pulpit on Sunday and say “Amen” and follow it.
In fact, Abraham initially failed to hold onto God's Word properly. He barely received God's guidance in a state where he had not escaped from humanism, but his faith began to grow greatly when he reached the age of one hundred and obtained his son Isaac. When God told him to kill his only son Isaac and offer him as a burnt offering, he did not hesitate and obeyed. After God prepared a ram instead of Isaac and had him offer the ram as a burnt offering, Abraham and his son Isaac completely concluded with “Only Christ.” The answers that came to Abraham from then on was enormous. Isaac, who had almost died, also concluded with “Only Christ” before God, who had prepared a ram in his place, and lived a smooth life of answers throughout his life.
In this way, believers must enjoy the blessing of being with God and follow the flow of the gospel that is accomplished through themselves who are the temple. As you hold on to the Word God gives and follow the flow of the gospel, you can experience the work of the kingdom of God being accomplished around you.
However, most Christians seem to say they believe without knowing what they believe and fail to truly enjoy the gospel. If Christians are living a life that has nothing to do with the Word God gives them today, the content of what they pray for and receive answers for today, and the work of the kingdom of God that He wants to accomplish through them today, then disasters will inevitably become more severe. The basics of a believer are to hold on to today's Word, today's prayer, and today's evangelism and live enjoying the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
