The Message of Evangelism Proclaimed by King Solomon

King Solomon was a man who enjoyed the best of everything that the world envies most. After briefly losing his way, intoxicated by the finest wealth and luxury, and then hearing God's warning of judgment, Solomon proclaimed a message of evangelism to all the people of the world – this is the Book of Ecclesiastes.

In Ecclesiastes 2:25, Solomon reflects on his past: "For who can eat and find enjoyment apart from him?" Solomon, who had experienced the greatest things the world could offer, confesses in Ecclesiastes 1:14: "I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind." He tried to satisfy himself with all power, wealth, and pleasure, but the result was emptiness and futility. Please listen to the words of King Solomon, who, after briefly leaving God while intoxicated by the world, became an evangelist in his old age, calling people to enter the path of true life.

1. Completely entrust your life to God, your Master.

Ecclesiastes 11:1 speaks words contrary to worldly values. The world teaches that you should gather much wealth and store it in warehouses, but it says, "Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return." In other words, use and give what you have for the sake of others in the world. Since you yourself belong to God, and all that is given to you belongs to God, it commands you to entrust your entire life to God, your Master, and live a life serving your neighbor.

Ecclesiastes 11:4 says that those who live only by looking at the wind cannot sow seeds, and those who gaze at the clouds, constantly measuring things, cannot harvest for fear of rain. Therefore, verse 5 says to entrust yourself to God, who knows all things and governs with omnipotence, and be guided by Him. Enjoy being with God, who sends the wind, creates and sends the clouds, and has all authority in heaven and earth, and live helping your neighbors in the world.

2. Those who are saved must live a new life directly connected to the throne of heaven.

We, who have become people of Christ through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, live a new life directly connected to the throne of God, beyond the wisdom and experience of our old selves. Only those who are people of Christ, with the throne of heaven as their present address, can entrust their remaining lives to the Lord. If that is not the case, you may appear to be going to church as a Christian, but you do not actually live entrusting your entire life to the Lord. Therefore, we are always told to hold onto the Word given to us, entrust our entire remaining life to God, who governs all things and knows the path of our lives, and enter into the blessing of walking with God. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).”

A life completely entrusted to God lives a journey of covenant in which everything is decided by God. When covenant people encounter problems, they do not seek ways to solve them, but rather hold onto the covenant within the problem and seek answers to be guided. The reason why Joseph and David were able to find answers within various problems and walk with God was because they were within Christ’s love.

3. Do your best in your current work, but prepare for the Day of Judgment.

Ecclesiastes 11:6 says, "Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hand not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well." This does not mean that because you entrust yourself to God, you should do nothing and just stand still. This means that, having sown the seed, you should live each day faithfully and to the best of your ability. Since God will surely determine your path, make decisions, and guide you, we follow according to His Word. Moreover, it says to live this life given to us in the world with the throne of heaven as the center, always rejoicing and giving thanks in all things. However, because the dark world has many dark days, do not be bound or deceived by it, but shine the light of life to those who are wandering aimlessly.

No one can claim that their life is their own. People created in God's image are beings who should naturally entrust their entire lives to God and live in fellowship with Him. Those who were bound by fate and caught by the ruler of this world, the devil, due to original sin, can become people of Christ and restore the image of God by holding onto the covenant of Christ. To save us, God came as Christ and threw himself completely upon the water. Those who hold onto Christ as their lifeline through God's grace are united with the resurrected Christ and gain new life. It is said that the old has gone, the new is here! Therefore, we have been able to come before the throne of grace through the way of salvation that God has made.

However, we must remember that God's judgment awaits those who ultimately reject this gospel, which is God's love. The brief period of life is the only opportunity for salvation given to each person. All the things that were spent eating good food, wearing expensive clothes, and indulging in luxury and pleasure only for oneself during this period of life disappear without a trace, like a flowing river. However, only what is shared with others with the wealth entrusted to me does not disappear. It is the most beautiful thing in life when someone who has received help opens their heart, embraces the Gospel, and the Gospel of life enters into that person's life.
