사람은 늘 죽음을 준비하며 살아야 합니다
하나님께서는 사람을 창조하시고 창조 언약 안에서 하나님의 영광을 누리며 살게 하셨습니다. 그러나 사람은 마귀의 거짓을 붙들고 창조 언약을 어기고 하나님께 반역하여 영원한 멸망 속에 빠져 버렸습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 하나님께서는 그리스도 언약을 세워 주시고 유일한 길과 진리와 생명의 길’을 열어 주셨습니다. 아담 이후 모든 각 사람은 위에서 주신 재창조의 언약을 붙들고 구원받은 사람들도 많았지만, 땅 엣것에 빠져 흑암에 잡힌 사람들은 유일한 복음 외에 ‘여러 가지 다른 길’을 추구하며 불신앙의 길을 따라 멸망의 길을 가는 자들이 많습니다. 이처럼 각 사람 앞에는 언제나 세상의 거짓과 하나님의 그리스도 언약이 놓여 있습니다. 무엇을 선택할지는 각 사람의 자유지만, 그 결과는 자유의지를 가진 각 사람의 책임입니다.
1. 세상의 각 분야에서 최고를 누려봤던 솔로몬 왕의 외침을 잘 들어야 합니다.
전도서의 첫 마디에서 솔로몬 왕은 “전도자가 가로되 헛되고 헛되며 헛되고 헛되니 모든 것이 헛되도다. 사람이 해 아래서 수고하는 모든 수고가 자기에게 무엇이 유익한가”라고 외칩니다. 마지막 외침은 전도서 12;13-14절에 “일의 결국을 다 들었으니 하나님을 경외하고 그 명령을 지킬지어다 이것이 사람의 본분이니라. 하나님은 모든 행위와 모든 은밀한 일을 선악 간에 심판하시리라.” 하였습니다. 그래서 솔로몬은 초상집에 가는 것이 잔칫집에 가는 것보다 낫다고 외친 것입니다. 각 사람에게 주어진 세상에서의 육신의 삶의 기간은 풀잎에 맺힌 이슬과 같이 잠깐 있다가 금세 돌아가기 때문입니다. 모든 사람이 원죄에 빠져 본질상 진로의 자식이 되어버렸지만, 세상에서 잠시 사는 기간동안 아름다운 이름으로 바뀔 수 있는 기회가 주어진 것입니다. 아름다운 이름이란 그리스도의 이름을 받아 하나님의 자녀된 사람을 의미합니다. 솔로몬은 세상의 재물이나 명예 그리고 권세와 같은 것들을 추구하는 사람보다, 하나님의 사랑을 받는 하나님의 자녀된 사람이 더 귀하다고 하였습니다.
2. 세상에서 사람은 늘 죽음을 준비하며 살아야 합니다.
만약에 이 세상이 전부라면, 죽음 이후에 천국과 지옥이 없다면 이 세상에서 호의호식하며 사는 것이 최고의 복일 것입니다. 솔로몬이 볼 때 참으로 지혜로운 사람은 해 아래에서 인생의 삶은 잠시 잠깐이요 하나님께서 정하신 기한이 있다는 것을 늘 기억하고 살아가는 사람입니다. 모든 각 사람은 주어진 육신의 삶을 살다가 결국에는 하나님 앞에 서게 되는 날이 온다는 사실을 알고 살아가는 사람이 참 지혜 자라는 것입니다. 새 생명 얻어 아름다운 이름을 받을 수 있는 유일한 방법은 그리스도를 구주로 모시는 것입니다. 잠시 살다 돌아가는 인생은 그리스도를 구주로 모시고 구원받을 수 있는 기회로 주어진 것입니다. 그래서 솔로몬은 “애곡하는 집에 가는 것이 잔칫집에 가는 것보다 나으니 이는 그것이 모든 사람의 끝이기 때문이라. 살아 있는 자는 그것을 자기 마음에 두리라”고 외쳤습니다. 자신의 죽음을 인지하고, 죽음을 준비하며 사는 삶이 중요합니다. 우리에게 인생의 끝이 있다는 사실을 모르고 사는 것은 짐승의 삶과 같습니다. 타인의 죽음을 보며 자기 자신도 절대로 죽음을 피할 수 없는 유한한 존재임을 잊지 말고 죽음 이후의 영원한 삶 즉 천국과 지옥에 대한 대비를 하라는 것입니다.
3. 누구든 창조주 하나님 앞에서 겸손한 인생을 살아야 합니다.
인생을 살아갈 때 악인이 득세하고 장수하는 것을 보는 경우도 많습니다. 이럴 때에 의로운 마음이 가득하여 악인을 미워하며 싸우려고 하는 자칭 의인의 자리에 서는 사람이 있습니다. 우연을 허용치 않으시고 모든 만사를 절대 주권으로 운영하시는 하나님이 안 계시다면 그런 자리에 설 필요도 있겠으나, 영원하신 하나님은 항상 살아계시며 모든 것을 주관하십니다. 그러나 하나님이 누구신지 망각하고 자신이 하나님 되어 이 불의한 사회를 개조해 보고자 사회 운동을 하는 분들도 많습니다. 잘하는 듯 보여도 이는 자신이 하나님의 자리에 앉는 행위일 수 있습니다. 그리하다가 오히려 악한 자들의 반격과 덫에 빠져 자기 생명을 잃을 수 있다고 경고하고 계십니다(전도서 7:16절). 하나님께서는 애굽의 바로 왕이나 로마의 네로황제도 악한 그대로 사용하셨습니다. 그리스도께서나 그의 사도들도 인류 구원 사역을 하셨지 사회 개혁운동을 하신 것은 아니었습니다. 하나님께서는 이 땅에서 의로운 자는 아무도 없다고 말씀하십니다. 솔로몬 왕은 모든 인류 중에서 한 남자(그리스도)만이 의로우며, 그분을 통해 의로워질 수 있음을 알았다고 고백하였습니다. 구약시대를 살았던 솔로몬은 오실 그리스도를 말하고 있으나 신약시대를 사는 우리는 그분이 예수 그리스도이심을 압니다. 그분은 천하 만민의 죄를 대신 지시기 위해 이 땅에 오신 예수 그리스도이십니다.
하나님은 인간에게 인간의 근본 문제와 유일한 해답 그리스도를 알고 구주로 모실 수 있는 기회를 주셨습니다. 그러나 불신앙 하는 인간들은 사단의 유혹에 넘어가서 하나님의 뜻을 거역하기 위한 여러 가지 생각과 계략들을 만들어오고 있습니다(전도서7:29). 그 결과 이 세상에는 각종 우상과 종교가 들어오게 되었고, 교회 안에까지 거짓 교사들이 침투하여 유일무이한 복음을 왜곡시키고 있습니다. 이런 상황 속에 전 세계는 각종 전염병과 자연 재해, 전쟁이 끊이지 않고 있습니다. 복음 전해야 할 교회가 땅 엣것에 묶이면 재앙이 왔었습니다. 로마 시대 초대교회 성도들은 그 모진 박해와 핍박 속에서도 천국 본향에 산 소망을 두고 살았습니다. 나그네 삶을 살았던 그들을 통해 복음의 빛이 비춰지며 로마제국이 기독교 국가가 되었고, 오대양 육대주와 세계 곳곳에 교회가 세워졌습니다. 이 바통을 이어받아 각종재앙을 딛고 일어서서 위엣것을 붙들고 누리시며 빛을 발하는 삶을 사시기바랍니다.

People Must Live Ready for Death All the Time.
God created man and allowed him to live enjoying God's glory within the creation covenant. However, man held onto the lies of the devil, broke the creation covenant, and rebelled against God, falling into eternal destruction. Nevertheless, God established the Christ covenant and opened the “only way, the truth, and the life.” After Adam, many people who held onto the covenant of re-creation given from above were saved, but there are many who are trapped in the things of the earth and caught in darkness, pursuing “various other ways” besides the only gospel and following the path of disbelief to the path of destruction. Like this, the lies of the world and God's Christ covenant are always placed before each person. Choosing one or the other is each person's freedom, but each person with free will must also be responsible for the results.
1. We should pay close attention to the lament of King Solomon, who enjoyed the height of success in all areas of earthly life.
In the first few verses of Ecclesiastes, King Solomon cries out, "’Meaningless! Meaningless!’ says the Teacher. ‘Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless. What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun?’" The last exclamation is in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14: "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." That is why Solomon exclaimed that going to a funeral home is better than going to a banquet hall. This is because the period of physical life in the world given to each person is like dew on a blade of grass, which is here for a moment and quickly gone. Although everyone has fallen into original sin and become children of wrath by nature, they have been given an opportunity to change into a beautiful name during the temporary period of life in this world. A beautiful name means a person who has received the name of Christ and has become a child of God. Solomon said that a person who is a child of God who receives God's love is more precious than people who pursue things like worldly wealth, fame, and power.
2. People in this world must always live with death in mind.
If this world were everything, if there were no heaven and hell after death, it would be the greatest blessing to live a life of luxury in this world. In Solomon's view, a truly wise person is one who always remembers and lives knowing that life under the sun is temporary and that there is a time limit set by God. A truly wise person is one who lives knowing that the day will come when every person will see the end of their given physical life and eventually stand before God. The only way to receive a new life and receive a beautiful name is to receive Christ as your Lord and Savior. A short life in this world that eventually ends is given as an opportunity to receive Christ as one’s Lord and Savior and be saved. That is why Solomon cried out, "It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for this is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart." It is important to be aware of your own death and live preparing for death. Living without knowing that we have an end to our lives is like the life of an animal. Seeing the death of others, do not forget that you are also a finite being who can never avoid death, and prepare for eternal life after death, that is, heaven and hell.
3. All must live humbly before God, the Creator.
When living life, there are many cases where we see the wicked prospering and living long lives. At times like this, there are people who stand in the position of a self-proclaimed righteous, who are filled with righteous intentions and try to hate and fight against the wicked. If there were no God who does not allow coincidence and operates all things with absolute sovereignty, there may be a need to stand in such a position; but the eternal God is always alive and governs everything. However, there are many people who forget who God is and try to remodel this unjust society by becoming God themselves and engaging in social movements. Even if it seems to be doing well, this may be an act of sitting in God's place. He is warning that you may lose your life by falling into the counterattack and trap of evil people (Ecclesiastes 7:16). God used even Pharaoh of Egypt and Emperor Nero of Rome as they were. Christ and his apostles did the work of saving humanity, not social reform movements. God says that there is no righteous person on this earth. King Solomon confessed that he knew that only one man (Christ) among all mankind is righteous, and that he can be made righteous through him. Solomon, who lived in the Old Testament era, is speaking of the coming Christ; but we who live in the New Testament era know that he is Jesus Christ. He is Jesus Christ who came to this earth to bear the sins of all people.
God has given mankind the opportunity to know the fundamental problems of mankind and the only answer—Christ—and to receive Him as one’s Lord and Savior. However, unbelieving humans are seduced by Satan and create various thoughts and schemes to defy God's will (Ecclesiastes 7:29). As a result, various idols and religions have entered this world; and even within the church, false teachers have infiltrated and distorted the only gospel. In this situation, the world is constantly plagued by various epidemics, natural disasters, and wars. When the church, which should preach the gospel, is bound to the things of the earth, disaster has come. The early church saints in the Roman era lived with a living hope in their heavenly homeland even in the midst of such harsh persecution and oppression. The light of the gospel shone through them, who lived as sojourners, and the Roman Empire became a Christian nation, and churches were established in the five oceans, six continents, and around the world. Taking over this baton, I hope that you will overcome various disasters, hold onto and enjoy the things above, and live a life of shining light.
